Peaceful and private bach just a few minutes walk to village centre and pools
You and your family or friends will be close to everything when you stay at our peaceful yet centrally located house. It's located on one of Hanmer's oldest and most established streets and offers a quintessential Kiwi bach experience. Nestled among trees and across the road from the Hanmer Forest, the house is private and quiet but just a couple of minutes walk from the pools and village centre. The bach is full of character, comfortable and well appointed, including a full kitchen, and a log burner, heaters and electric blankets for the winter months. There is a master bedroom and a second bedroom with beds on the lower and mezzanine floors (accessible by a ladder) which ideal for children. Linen and towels are provided for guests. The property has generous gardens and lawns at the front and back of the house, offering both sun and shade.
Whether you want a relaxing or active stay, our house is an ideal gateway to all that Hanmer has to offer. The forest across the road offers great walking and mountain biking opportunities and the birdsong is lovely in the mornings and evenings.
As a family we've enjoyed this house for over 40 years and we know you will too.

Had a wonderful time staying in Hamner, celebrating a midwinter Christmas. Love the property, it was exactly as we remembered it from last year, and can't wait to stay again next year (hopefully!!!). Thank you for a great stay!!!
Got a message nice and early with the code for the door. Lovely wee cottage. Only worry we had was with it being cold there was not much wood for the fire. Even though it stated there was extra in the bin. Which their wasnt. But plenty of heating so wasnt an issue.
Will was a fabulous host and very prompt at responding to any questions. Loved the cherries and plums in the fridge and kids adored the mezzanine bedroom - fabulous house and space to hang out, so close to everything. Loved it
A great sized bach for the four of us, lovely short walk to the village and the forest walks literally across the road. We stayed in the middle of winter and the fire warmed the house well.
Will's cottage is authentically old-worldy. Beautiful, quiet except for gorgeous bird song and so conveniently close to everything. Comfy beds and great pressure to the shower. My mum and l had a lovely 3 night stay. Met Will and he's lovely too!! Thanks Will.
We enjoyed our stay at Will's place in Hanmer. The place is a classic kiwi bach, simple but well maintained and cozy. Would definately look to book again next time we head up to Hanmer.
This property is in a great central location, super toasty warm with the fire and heaters provided, good off street parking and is a lovely homely cottage. Fab communication from the owner. We would happily stay again.
A beautiful property for a family getaway. Space to move and cook and relax. Our children enjoyed the boardgames aswell. The hosts were fantastic. Great communication, and a few delightful treats upon our arrival. Recommended!

I chose this cottage as the photos and reviews online were 9-10 and the host was a great communicator at all times. But, the amenities were not up to my standard. Eg: the light bulbs in bathroom were blown, we changed these, the fuse box is old and kept tripping out, jug lid fell off, hair in the basin plug outlet cleanliness didn’t cut it. We chose not to stay and still paid for the 2 days we had booked. We stayed at other accommodation in Hanmer.
We had two nice nights in this typical NZ style family bach/crib, loved the fireplace and yard. Did our kids good to get back to basics! Great location to get to the pools, the village and explore the bush for the fairy and sculpture walk.
A rustic, comfortable and cosy house despite the winter temps. Close distance to hot pools and township. Very good communication and support when needed and clear instructions re entry.
We had a lovely stay in this comfortable, warm cottage. It is in great location close to amenities, but also quiet enough that we were awoken each morning by the birdsong.
Will is a wonderful, obliging host who does the extra things - mailing something I had left behind. Thank you.

Disappointed
On entering the property there was a strong musty smell which put us off spending much time there. The place needed a good clean throughout especially the bathroom. Shower and around the windows were dirty and there was mould on the walls and ceiling. Would not recommend.
