We loved the historic nature of the home. Nicely updated. Comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. Nice neighborhood, people were walking their dogs felt very safe. Hardwood floors were beautiful, just a bit squeaky, but that is expected when staying in a house built in the early 1900’s
The Hyde Park Mansion is a great place to stay for a group of people. There is a lot of space to spread out in various rooms. The owner is very communicative as needed. It's our 2nd time staying there and we'll likely be back
The Hyde Park Mansion is a lovely home in a historic district in Kansas City. Great location for a home base when visiting Kansas City attractions such as the Nelson Atkins museum, gardens, and parks. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and comfortable living spaces. The front porch with the Adirondack chairs was a pleasant space to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and to visit. It could use a good sweeping of the twigs and leaves that have accumulated. The beds were very comfortable and the ceiling fans were entertaining! The upstairs air conditioning worked better than the downstairs system, but it wasn't uncomfortable in either location. We enjoyed our stay at the Hyde Park Mansion and think you will too!
We had a girls weekend here and was perfect! The house temperature settings were a little cool wish we could have adjusted our own heat! Nice big size rooms, the host was amazing and very accommodating!
Great historic property with very comfortable beds
The Mansion is a lovely historic property with excellent updates and very comfortable beds. It is in a great location for both downtown and plaza events. Overall the home was very well kept. The kitchen/stove front needed a good cleaning but otherwise very clean and nice. Would stay again and recommend to friends.
Such an interesting mansion house with an extra stairway for the maids, etc. great oak woodwork. Great location, close to the art museum. It was rather musty and the lighting was poor, difficult to cook for a large group in the odd kitchen.
I cannot say enough good things about this house. The house itself is gorgeous; they don’t make them like this anymore. The neighborhood is phenomenal. If you choose to stay here, make sure you take a walk around and look at all the old homes and the old money that runs Kansas City. The cookware was as nice as what you would have at home; the kitchen appliances and everything was above par. I would move in here if I had a reason to move to KC!!!
I grew up in Kansas City, so I appreciate a myriad of neighborhoods downtown- with all their guts and glory. You’re close to everything here. The Nelson- Atkins, Westport, Crossroads, The Plaza, Brookside, ect. I had a good parking spot, and street parking is also easily accessible and spacious. This neighborhood is in a city center- so common sense matters.
This house was absolutely lovely, and as a host myself I felt it met our basic needs. Anything above and beyond, I bring with me. I don’t really understand the negative reviews, it had all the necessary components for our small group. The host is very clear about his house rules and they aren’t difficult by any means. Our youngest daughter was coming home from a semester studying abroad in Ireland, & this place provided a great locale and eclectic vibe for our family and her friends to reunite. Andrew was down to earth and nice. Much appreciated. We would stay again. It’s a cool place, and it made me miss hometown KC.
This is a beautiful area, beautiful home and centrally located. We loved everything about it. Easy check in and check out. The only downside is there is a unit on the 3rd floor and as it is with older homes, there was lots of creaking going on later at night. We would definitely stay here again!
The mansion was beautiful and an interesting layout. It was close to everything we wanted to do and the neighborhood of homes was cool to drive through.
Went to Kansas City for a wedding. Needed a place for a family with 2 teens, grandma, parents. Nice house with ample space. Rooms and beds comfy. Driveway to park car. Upon asking for booking price went up because I was booking for six guests. With the old house charm you get creaky floors, and squeaky doors. Lots of stairs for my grandma were difficult because all bedrooms were on second floor. One bedroom door did not lock or latch. Bathrooms doors locked with a hook. Wi-Fi was spotty and slow. Nice immediate neighborhood but surrounding neighborhood is so-so. 10 minutes to T-Mobile center. First bullet point on Welcome packet said this is not a party house and you will get kicked out if rules are not followed. We had no issues. Owner was responsive to questions. Clean and comfy house. TVs in every room.
The house was very large. The house has an antique quality. Except the kitchen which has updated features. Manager was prompt in responding when we had questions. Comfortable home away from home! Quiet neighborhood. Easy to access all downtown KC attractions!
The house was so very nice , plenty of room with everything we needed . The owner was super helpful and answered all questions !! The neighborhood was so impressive and they did a great job. Thanks for the chance to enjoy it !!!
The home is beautiful with nice decor and original wood and fixtures. Very spacious for our group of 5. Beautiful neighborhood. Was able to sit on porch and enjoy the rain and birds calling and the army of squirrels in the massive trees both mornings of our stay. Located near Westport and the plaza everything we needed was close at hand.
We stayed at the Hyde Mansion in Kansas City, MO. It was perfect for a small graduation reception. The area is quiet and safe. Easy access to house and immediate response with maintenance.
