The light-filled Sunshine Hideaway 5 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom beach house provides the perfect accommodation for the discerning guest, families, or groups wanting to escape to the ultimate beach hideaway.
Located in secluded Sandy Point, just 200km from the Melbourne, the idyllic location, ample facilities, and convenience to the entire South Gippsland make it the perfect base for a holiday any time of year. With activities to suit all types of weather and interests, you are certain to have a great time with everything on offer here, you will be sure to return again soon!
The House
Positioned perfectly and dotted with native trees. It has all the benefits and facilities of a new build. The modern beach house features sunny light-filled living areas that open out onto a large outdoor deck with seating for 10, and a huge gas BBQ that rolls into a native garden. There is an outdoor hot shower, perfect after a day at the beach.
The 5 bedrooms, 2 large living areas (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs) both with TV's and 3 bathrooms accommodate up to 10 people, with 3 queen size beds upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs. One is a bunk room with 4 single beds and the 5th bedroom comes with a tri-bunk (double bed with a single above) in total (Bedroom 1: Queen; Bedroom 2: Queen; Bedroom 3: Queen; Bedroom 4: 2 x bunks; Bedroom 5 tri-bunk).
There is an indoor dining area seating 10 and a chef's dream kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave, zip tap, chef's knives, and stainless steel benches. The coffee pod machine make is L'OR Sublime Compact so bring along your favourite style single or double L'or pods or Nespresso Original to enjoy. There is also a coffee plunger for those that prefer drinking filtered coffee.
The open plan living area has comfortable seating with a television, DVD/Blue Ray, Chromecast, and great stereo which connects to any head-jack or via Bluetooth. There are even board games to help keep everyone entertained well into the evening.
Longer stays are made easier with the washing machine, dryer, ironing facility.
There is parking to the front of the property for 2 cars
Fast internet is available at the property along with Chromecast both upstairs and downstairs.
Linen is not provided at this property, guests must bring their own linen and towels.
There are strictly No Pets at this property.
Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
While the property is fully furnished and well equipped, it may not have all appliances and equipment you may be used to using. We apologise if this causes inconvenience.
- Guest Access
You have use of the entire house and yard. Guest access information will be provided the day of your arrival via email. This will include details on how to locate the property, where to locate the key safe, and the key safe combination to access the keys.
- Neighbourhood
Situated approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne and approximately 40 mins to Wilsons Promontory.
The property is located close to the main beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. Waratah Bay Surf Lifesaving Club patrols the beach over summer; they also have a bar, occasional meals and events.
Launch your boat at Shallow Inlet, just a short 5 minute drive. It's famous for wind surfing, kite surfing and fishing.
The Sandy Point General store is the hub for groceries, bait, petrol, gas, bottle shop and an Australia Post outlet.
A small Mini golf course is located next to our office on Beach Parade (seasonal).
Playgrounds, Tennis courts (equipment can be hired from the General Store), Half basketball court & public bbq areas are located next to the Sandy Point Community Centre.
The Sandy Point Community Centre hosts art festivals, markets & other events over summer.
Sandy Point is a great base for exploring the local region. With Wilsons Promontory a short drive away, you can enjoy a range of short and long hikes that include breath taking beaches, rivers and wildlife encounters.
The historic towns of Fish Creek, Walkerville, Foster, Toora and Meeniyan are an easy drive away, offering outstanding local produce, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries.
Also in easy reach is the historic Cape Liptrap Lighthouse and Walkerville Lime Kilns at the famous Magic Beach, Walkerville South.
The Great Southern Rail Trail (131kms) runs from Nyora to Yarram and can be accessed at Fish Creek, it's ideal for biking or walking.
- Getting Around
Sandy Point is a lovely Village to stroll around, however getting beyond this you will need your own car.
- Other things to note
Due to the closure of the Gippsland Power Stations, during peak times (i.e. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control.
Each property in Sandy Point is on tank water and septic systems.
