Me and a bunch of friends who are all students at WSU came here for a long weekend and it exceeded our expectations! Everything about the house was perfect and the location was amazing. Rossland is an awesome little community and I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip up to RED!!!
Awesome build in an awesome spot. New, clean, tastefully finished, tons of room to store and dry winter gear, and incredibly convenient access to red mountain resort. Pat was very friendly and easy to work with as well.
Fantastic stay all around. Owner was very responsive. The hose is beautiful. Everything was as advertised. Super convenient to RED Mountain Resort. Rossland downtown was very close. That was all we were looking for so I can’t really speak to anything else but would stay again in a heartbeat.

This was a large property able to sleep many guest, but yet you still had your own privacy. It was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with cooking materials (pots, pans, bowls etc) that would accomodate a large group. It was 5 mins to the ski hill (as we were there for a ski race). The host was fantastic, easy to reach and answered all of our questions. The house was beautiful! We would stay here again

About the host
Hosted by Pat Koch
My name is Pat and I played the main role in the design and building of the Shred Patio Bed & Shredyard. During winter I work as a ski patroller at Red Mountain and, now that my house is complete, I work as a medic for the BC Wildfire Service in the summer. I grew up under the living skies of Saskatchewan and normally return there in the fall to work during harvest. I play guitar in local Rossland band, The Gravy Train. Here's a bit more about how I got here. . . . .
How did Covid and the worldwide shutdown affect your life? For me, prior to Covid (year 2020), I was spending winters in Rossland, spring in Mexico, summer in Chile & Argentina (winter) and fall back on the prairies to make a little money to take a kitesurfing trip somewhere tropical and then return to Rossland for winter again. When borders were closed in the spring of 2020, the lifestyle I was carving for myself was largely not available anymore. I spent the summer of 2020 visiting friends and family, thinking that covid would blow over and I could return to ‘normal’, but by spring of 2021 it was evident that returning to winters in South America wasn’t going to be an option. I watched as the cost of housing began to skyrocket and got very nervous that I would never afford a home of my own in the one community that I consistently returned to for winters since 2012, Rossland.
To be continued. . . . .
Why they chose this property
Richie Rd is a very quiet located in the rural district outside of Rossland and near Red Mountain Resort. It is a very quiet location on a dead end road. The property itself is a little larger than 5 acres with a creek that flows year round. This is acreage living while still being close enough to town to be a part of the community
What makes this property unique
