Beautiful quiet stay
We had a wonderful time at this quiet cottage on the lake! Great communication with the hosts. The house was clean and cozy, with plenty of space and a lovely back deck. We would highly recommend visiting Hudak farm (10 min away) while in the area. Day trips to Burlington and Montreal are both totally doable as well!
Cottage was good size for group of 5. Beds were very firm but the linens provided were nice. Deck on waterfront offered amazing views. Access to lake was down a few steps, slightly steep and rocky, water shoes recommended. Kitchen equipment, pots/pans, cooking utensils could use some updating.
We enjoyed our stay. It was like coming home since we did live on the Lake It brought back many wonderful memories. The accomodations met our needs. There was an ample supply of linens and household items. The only problem we encountered was using the TV. But all things considered, it was an enjoyable stay
Only problem we had was our GPS kept sending us into Cohen park. Drive was almost impossible to see since we got there after sunset.

Great location, house a little out dated
First, the lake views were absolutely stunning—truly a highlight of our stay and you couldn’t ask for a better location. It was a bit tricky to find the house after dark, but once located, access was straightforward. The main living room sofas were very comfortable and inviting. However, some of the other furnishings felt quite outdated. While we understand not every rental has a dishwasher, it was a bit inconvenient to be expected to wash and put away all dishes—especially considering the relatively high cleaning fee. It’s possible we were the first guests of the season, as there was noticeable dust inside the house upon arrival. Additionally, the back deck didn’t appear to be prepped for guests—furniture was upside down and quite dirty, which required more cleaning than anticipated. The windows by the dining nook also had cobwebs between the panes, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. That said, we truly enjoyed our time at the property, especially the deck and peaceful surroundings. With just a few small updates—like some fresh paint, a dishwasher, and slightly larger or more modern TVs—the home could really shine and offer an even better experience

Response from VrboOwner on 10 June 2025
From the owner, "Hi Andrew, Thank you for the thoughtful feedback—I shared your comments with our cleaner, Sarah, as we know there’s always room to improve when it comes to preparing the home. I’m currently in the process of replacing the window pane near the dining area to help prevent future cobwebs and maintain the view. While the listing does not include a dishwasher, this has always been a personal choice, as I’ve found washing dishes can be a nice way for family and friends to spend time together. I also want to note that the TV is a good size, though I appreciate your suggestions and will keep them in mind as I continue to make updates to the property."

Amazing Sunsets
We had a wonderful time in Swanton. Only feet away from the lake and a small set of stairs to get down to the water if you wanted. The views off the deck and yard were so relaxing and the sunsets were beautiful. Plenty of fun things to do in surrounding towns. The rental house was comfortable and had everything we could need.
