The cabin was cozy. The layout was nice. The check-in was easy. The beds were comfortable. On the downside, the fireplace does not generate heat, (just for looks) and we were unable to get the sauna to work. Also, the cabin could use a good cleaning.
Adorable home with a great location on the lake in Butternut. We stayed here with our two kids and dogs for a grouse hunting trip. Our kids loved the house. Very clean and comfortable. Able to take our side by side directly from the property to ATV trails. Great breakfast very close at Butternut Cafe. Easy check in and check out.
House was clean and kept well. Great location for our hunting spots. Close to gas stations, grocery stores and places to eat. Sunrise over the lake was awesome.
We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful little cabin. We had my parents, our 2 dogs and 2 young kids. There was plenty of space for everyone. Will definitely book again!
We had an amazing stay at this cute home. It accommodated all of us. The huge yard was also a big plus for us and our kids. Gave everyone a place to run and play.
Spacious and relaxing. Great screened porch. Deer were a common sight. Very nice kitchen, well equipped...just bring your food and enjoy. Guest contact Jenny was super!
Clean Convenient cabin on Butternut lake. Plenty of room and amenities especially the equipped kitchen. Loved that there was three levels for separation if we needed it for privacy. Jenny was wonderful to work with.
Peaceful, comfortable home. All the beds were very comfortable, thank you.
Grouse hunting was disappointing in the area. Wisconsin is a beautiful state and we will return someday to hunt another part of the state.
The property is beautiful. Excellent views of wildlife and the lake. Own private dock where we kept our boat. Bar is literally less than a block away and they have amazing food and while we were there live music. The property owners were responsive and helped us with everything we needed. We will definitely be back
Large accomodating and well restored house. We had all 7 of our family and plenty of room. It is neat to have a built-in spa. I had not done that for years. Very good value for the price.
Everything was as described/pictured. The yard was awesome, lots of space inside and outside. Everything we needed to cook/eat with was provided. The neighborhood around the property is beautiful and ideal for a quiet walk around the lake.
Now, this is not the owners fault because it’s just what was happening at the time, but LOTS of dead bugs. Inside the window of the storm doors, on the windowsills, the floor, book shelves, they were literally just dying everywhere and that was pretty gross to see.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. It is set in the middle of a very large lot, well back from the road, and woods border on two sides. It was just the two of us and our dog. We had to choose our bedroom among bedrooms on three floors. Being able to walk to the local bar and grill, Bobbers, was a big plus. We would definitely stay here again. The only negative was a lack of washer and dryer, not readily apparent when booking, so we got to visit a laundromat in Park Falls. We were here for family stuff so didn’t get to have any fun on the lake. Next time hopefully.
Not only is this a spacious house but the yard is extremely large and the lake is directly across the street. This house could easily sleep 10 to 12 people as there is a convertible chair in the upstairs Big bedroom, a huge sectional and side chairs with ottoman. The basement family rooms' couch is also a futon. My only disappointment were the basic supplies; refrigerator, it was completely empty (no butter, or condiments) no ice or ice maker in the freezer. I bought what I needed (including coffee) so it wasn't too bad. They supplied fire wood and some outdoor chairs and the fire ring was a nice plus. Charcoal grill, but it was kinda dirty and some previous guest had dumped their dirty ashtray and cigarette butts in the can that had the charcoal. - I hate dealing with that nastiness so we did not use the grill at all. Overall, I would stay here again as we have family that just moved to the area. We had plenty of room to play games and hang out.
The description of this gorgeous cabin in Butternut, Wisconsin is exactly as described on the website, so I won't repeat what they say. What I can tell you is that the cabin is even better in person. It was exceptionally, clean, very stylish, and extremely welcoming. I arrived earlier than expected, and with one phone call, I was allowed to enter the cabin and all was well. I felt like I was welcomed into someone's home, and was treated like a guest. The beds were very comfortable, and the peace of a lake stay in winter was amazing. The second evening I stay, two doe slowly wandered across the front yard. Lovely! Now -- a word about the Sauna. I'm a 57 year old woman. If I want the experience of a Sauna, I'll just want for the next hot flash and then stick my head in my freezer for a few minutes. So I really wasn't interested. But the second night I was there, it got a little chilly in the cabin, and the 95% of my DNA that hollers "Yew are of Scandinavian stock! Now get in Der and try dat Sauna!" So I did. And it was heavenly. I even put water on the rocks to make steam. SO much better than a hot flash and a bag of frozen peas. While you stay at this amazing place, you can't leave without eating at The Butternut Cafe. Go to the end of the driveway and turn left. You'll see the cafe in about... oh, a minute or two when you get to the stop sign at the highway. Try anything on the menu -- it's all really good. You really should see this place. :-)
