You can walk to the rue de Seine and to the river (and IIRC past the statue of Voltaire in the small park), walk across the street that parallels the river, across the Pont des Arts, then cross the street on the other side and through the archway into one of the plazas outside the Louvre. Making a left here takes you out to the pyrimids and into the Tuelleries.
