Osprey Nest Lakefront -sleeps 12, close to village

We are located on beautiful Upper Rideau Lake, where you can enjoy swimming, paddling or sitting on our private dock with a good book. Walk or paddle to the village of Westport for ice cream, restaurants, bakeries and shopping. Or enjoy a drink at our local brewery & winery with live music. Hike nearby trails, golf or go to the beach.. End the day with a campfire and star gazing. Come and enjoy the serenity and leave feeling rejuvenated and connected to nature. Suitable for families,not parties.
The space
Sleep comfortably in your choice of 6 Queen beds. No pullouts.

Well behaved dogs are welcome as they are part of your family! Our yard is not fenced in so dogs will need to be supervised when outside. Please keep pets off furniture and beds.

We have 1 canoe, a double kayak and 2 single kayaks. Please bring life jackets for proper fit.

We have a private dock with good swimming. You can dock your own boat if you have one. Bass fishing is popular in our lake for licensed anglers. Bait and tackle can be picked up at the top of our lane.

We have a lakeside campfire to enjoy in the evenings. The Milky Way runs straight overtop of the cottage so you can enjoy some fantastic star gazing.

We are walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the village of Westport or you can paddle and dock at the village harbour.

Nearby are hiking trails, golf courses, a small beach, a park with a playground and tennis courts.

By car it is 25 min to the beautiful town of Perth, 45 minutes to historic Kingston and 1 hr 20 min to Ottawa.

Guest access
You have access to the entire cottage, property and kayaks. There is a full kitchen and living room space, two decks, a grill and outdoor dining area. You have access to a private dock and yard space with a fire pit. Parking is limited to 3 cars.
Other things to note
We are on a well and septic. The water is filtered. You can drink from the tap. Please flush only toilet tissue.

Firewood is available in the village or at the local gas station for purchase.

There is a Roku device connected to the TV to enable you to sign in to your own streaming services.

End of summer getaway at Osprey Nest

We had a great time. The home was very clean, beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. It was a very tranquil setting. Lana was a great host always very responsive and informative.

We were not there much because we had a family wedding on Saturday, but we did enjoy the peacefulness and the view of the lake as well as a well supplied cottage my only complaint was the coffee pot. It needs to have some vinegar run through it because it’s quite clogged up and took forever to make coffee other than that. Everything was great.

Wonderful week at Osprey Nest

Lana is a terrific host. Her interactions were prompt and courteous. She would follow up her communications to make sure i received them and that we had everything we needed. The property was as described. Boat dock was very large and solid. We had large boats docked on both sides with no issues. Kids swam nearly every day right off the dock. Home interior is well laid out for large groups to allow activities like card games, board games, etc and still have plenty of space for meal prep. Beds are very comfortable. Will return for another trip.

Great house, beautiful location

We had a lovely time staying here -- it was spacious, clean, and perfectly situated. The kitchen had everything we needed as far as cookware and even a few staples like ketchup and salad dressing (we left a few more). The beds were all unbelievably comfortable -- so comfortable that I want one of them for my home and also don't, because I think I would never get out of bed. The dock is perfect for sitting on or launching a SUP or kayak (a little less perfect for swimming due to the weedy shoreline but it was lovely to jump off of our SUP further out). The firepit right next to the water is surrounded by a nice pebble circle, and there are even black raspberries next to the dock! All in all, we had a great time in this lovely home.

This was the perfect spot for a family gathering. There was room for the adults to spread out and visit as well as room for the children to play. I had a few questions for our host while we were there and she answered immediately. We would definitely book here again.
