I had a reunion with my cousins and we stayed at the cottage for the long weekend. It was a wonderful place to stay, was even better than the photos, and kept very clean. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great lakefront getaway!
The Cottage at Stafford Bay provided a nostalgic opportunity for our family to celebrate milestone bdays together. The private location, natural setting and log cabin enabled all to relax and enjoy the peaceful oasis. The indoor and outdoor facilities exceeded our expectations and the pride of ownership is evident in every corner of the property. We certainly hope to return again soon!
The home itself is a beautiful and cozy log home with incredible craftsmanship. Kitchen was amazing for preparing meals! The property had the most nature I’ve experienced at a cottage in Canada with several beavers in their lodge near the dock, turtles, deer, herons, and great fishing. Would absolutely recommend staying here. Additionally there is a gas/tackle/convenience store a short paddle away in Seeley’s bay. It is clear just how much care has been put into this home over the years. This is truly a special place!
The cabin was excellent and very clean, very well equipped, lots of room for the family to spread out and the beds were very comfortable except the one upstairs at the front the mattress sages to the middle. There was no grate in the fireplace
Our family booked this property about a year ago and it did not disappoint. We have been fishing and staying in the Seeleys Bay area for years. We have stayed at cottages and single residences and Stafford Bay was by far the best place we have stayed.1. Location2. Cleanliness 3. Price 4. Perfect set up for multiple families!5. Russell supplies renters with everything you need!6. Fantastic property and looking forward to booking with him again!!July 2025 Fishing Trip
My family of 5 enjoyed a 4 day get away during Christmas holidays. The property exceeding our expectations . The accommodations were very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. The instructions provided were detailed and extremely helpful. The hosts were very responsive from the time we booked to the arrival day. Our first morning was met with a fair amount of snowfall however the property and access road was cleared promptly. We highly recommend this property and look forward to our next stay in the very near future.
Our stay at this cottage was absolutely amazing! The space was beautiful and felt incredibly comfortable for our two families of four. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought into the details; the cottage was super clean and well-appointed, with a great little games room that kept everyone entertained. The kitchen was a dream to cook in, especially with the two sinks. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of having kayaks and a paddleboard available for our use. We discovered the water right off the dock was a little swampy, so we just took the provided watercraft out to a dock in the middle of the bay to swim. It was a great workaround and an unforgettable experience. The host was fantastic and easy to communicate with. We can't wait to stay here again!
Had an amazing weekend staying here.
Place was very spacious, full of activities and very comfortable.
Loved all the Canadiens memorabilia.
Outdoor space was amazing, lots to explore and great hanging spots on the balcony, dock and fire pit area.
Only issues were the water was a bit murky and its a bit of a journey to get from the place to the dock and swim/boat.
Also there's no garbage pickup so we were responsible for transporting or paying an extra fee to have it removed.
Neither of these should deter you from staying here :)
The photos on the website really don't do this property justice. It's a beautiful, spacious, rustic accommodation set in a very natural and private setting. We were four couples staying together and had we been five couples as originally planned, we still would have had ample room as there are lots of common areas where you can read, watch tv or just hang out on your own if you need a little privacy. The cottage itself is huge, well laid out (the five bedrooms and three bathrooms are a major bonus) and easily the most well stocked property we have ever stayed in - including a kitchen equipped with everything you'd ever want/need, a ton of games, activities and entertainment options as well as several types of watercraft. We particularly enjoyed the huge deck looking out over the bay and the ability to sit outside to eat, play games and soak up the sun. The reservation, check-in and check-out process were seamless and the host was accessible and available to answer any questions we had, If you're looking for a great place to escape and enjoy the company of friends and/or family, I really can't recommend this place enough.
I can’t say enough about how nice this place is. It’s a unique log home with tons of cozy charm and character, and every room is interesting. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, and the cottage is filled with extras to make your stay pleasant rain or shine.
The only minor negatives I could mention are that the floors are heritage and creak a fair bit, so you might want to keep light sleepers from bedding down in rooms right under any night owls, the path down to the lake is steep in spots, and the lake itself is a living one so has its fair share of weeds.
Don’t let any of this deter you, though! I mention them only so you can prepare. Overall, this cottage is absolutely wonderful and we would happily go back. Drinking fresh-brewed coffee on their gorgeous deck while watching the water and listening to the birds singing was just heaven.
A shoutout as well to the comprehensive guidebook that the owner has prepared, which answers all sorts of questions. We visited one of the recommended golf courses and had a fantastic round!

Thanks for the kind words, Derek. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at our family cottage. We hope you will return soon!
Regarding the weeds in the bay, we have them "mowed" between the dock and swim raft every summer. As part of a national park, the rest of the bay and shoreline must be left in it's natural state, which attracts iconic Canadian wildlife like beavers, otters, loons, herons, ducks, turtles, etc.
