Problems with the latch system

We have problems with the security system Too cumbersome. Even the regular residents hate it. The apartment is beautiful and all apliances are new. Yet, there are just few kitchen utensils and no condiments except for salt and pepper. This is more like a nice hotel room than a typical VRBO property.
