About this property
Beachfront luxury Marion Bay, Ocean views, safe swimming beach directly in front
Welcome to Marion Bay Lodge, a spacious and unique beachfront holiday house that offers breathtaking ocean views across Marion Bay from Penguin Point eastwards to Butlers Beach and the cliffs below Meehan's Lookout.
Perfect for families and couples.
Switch off and relax in extraordinary comfort, enjoying all the modern amenities this 'home away from home' has to offer.
Make Marion Bay Lodge your luxurious base while you explore the spectacular Dhilba Guuranda - Innes National Park. We provide one vehicle day pass to park. There is no charge for cyclists or walkers into park.
Marion Bay Lodge is ideally situated overlooking Marion Bay and is an easy walk to the town's local facilities such as the general store, tavern and jetty. A path directly across the road takes you straight to the beach at Penguin Point, great for children. There are 2 living and kitchen areas - upstairs and downstairs. The main kitchen is upstairs. There is a kitchenette downstairs if the teens want to grab a quick brekkie before heading out for that early surf!
The double storey, solid brick 'Lodge', with 5 bedrooms available for guests, was built in the early 2000's and has undergone major improvements over the last 3 years. An internal staircase of 17 stairs leads upstairs. There are 2 upper level outdoor undercover balconies - 1 facing east and the other west. Each balcony has its own barbecue so you can use one or the other, depending on the wind conditions.
UPPER LEVEL:
3 bedrooms (2 with ocean views), all with queen size beds, BIR, and 1 share bathroom/toilet.
GROUND LEVEL:
2 bedrooms, 1 with queen size bed and 1 with 2 x king singles, BIR, and 1 share bathroom/toilet.
There is a third toilet/bathroom at the rear of the house.
RATES: BASED ON 2 GUESTS PER BEDROOM

AU$400 per night (minimum 3 nights off peak)
Extra guests AU$100 per person per night (based on 2 guests per bedroom).
Maximum 10 guests.
PEAK SEASON: 1 December to end January school holidays, Easter Break, All Public & School Holidays (minimum 5 nights school holidays, minimum 4 nights Easter).
There is no charge for infants. We expect the infant would be sleeping in the wooden cot we provide in Bedroom 2 upstairs (guests to provide own cot bedding for infant), or guests bring their own travel cot. Please advise if infants are included at the time of your booking enquiry.
LINEN:
Quality pillows, quilts and linen is provided.
Linen includes - pillowcases, sheets, quilt covers, towels, flannels, hand towels, bathmats for each bathroom and tea towels. Beach towels not included.
The main kitchen is upstairs, while downstairs has a kitchenette. Both levels have their own dining area, living area and TV.
The backyard is fully paved and fully fenced in.
The main living and kitchen area is upstairs as guests will want to make the most of the breathtaking view across the bay. At bedtime be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean. Wake up in the morning in time to watch a spectacular sunrise with a mug of freshly ground coffee from the 'bean to cup' Jura coffee machine (BYO beans). If you prefer POD coffee we have a Breville pod coffee machine too (BYO Nespresso coffee pods).
The newly renovated and fully equipped upstairs kitchen, with island bench, has everything guests need to cook up a storm. Plenty of fridge and freezer space is available in twin bottom mount fridges. There are 2 full size, high end Electrolux ovens, one also a steam oven, a smaller oven/grill, and a Miele induction cooktop. There is a Weber hooded barbecue and 12 seater outdoor dining setting on the front undercover balcony. There is a dishwasher to help with the clean up afterwards. On the ground level there is a kitchenette with fridge/freezer, sink, microwave, electric jug and toaster.
Enjoy listening to your favourite music from the Sonos sound system or watching a movie on the 75 inch flat screen Samsung TV. Recline in one of the Stressless leather lounges with a glass of something special.
The south east to south west seabreeze usually cools temperatures down but on those rare hot northerly summer days or cold winter nights the Lodge has an AirTouch ducted reverse cycle air conditioning system to make your stay more comfortable. Each bedroom has its own temperature sensor and you can control the temperature using your phone or the main control panel.

About the host
Hosted by Michelle Partington

Marion Bay has been part of our family's lives for the past 40 years. We love the coastal environment so our favourite past time is doing anything that involves the sea - be it fishing, watching the surf, building sand castles with the grand kids or simply beachcombing. We have the added benefit of having the spectacular Dhilba Guuranda - Innes National Park on our door step where you can regularly enjoy a pristine beach all to yourself or marvel at some of the most beautiful coastline South Australia has to offer. The park has many walking trails so is fantastic for hikers and bushwalkers.
The 'Bottom End' of Yorke Peninsula is one of South Australia's best kept secrets and we would like to share it with you.

Why they chose this property
If you want to 'get away from it all' Marion Bay Lodge is your destination!
Marion Bay is a small, close knit coastal town 3 hours drive from Adelaide.
The 'Lodge' is our second 'home', so it has all the appliances and amenities you would expect in a home. It is a self-contained property and guests need to cater for their own needs.
There is no busy shopping area or the usual conveniences that a city offers - just a general store and fuel pump, local tavern, children's playground, caravan park and jetty.
