The property manager was adequately helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The apartment was new and clean inside out. The communication was excellent. It is located in a beautiful complex. However, after finishing the one-week rental and returning home, I received a message from the person in charge asking for $160 for the electricity bill for the one week we stayed there. I questioned how we could have incurred so much electricity when the unit was a relatively small two-bedroom apartment. I asked a friend we know who lives in Punta Cana, who informed us that there is now a way a monthly bill for a two-bedroom apartment could reach $640 per month. The person in charge did not wait for my final answer and opened a case with Airbnb. The latter resolved the case by paying the man the $160 and apologizing to me for the mishap. I did not appreciate the gesture, given that we faced two water leaks inside the apartment when it rained for three days. We called the person in charge about the leaks. They fixed the one and not the other, which was a leak coming from the bathroom ceiling, and they always had to wipe out the floor to use the bathroom. In the 11 rentals I have done, I have never seen such a complaint before. I wish the rental owner the best and hope he will pay more respect to his future guests.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. The Dominican Republic, being a developing country, faces challenges in terms of cost-effective electricity distribution. To promote energy conservation among renters during their stay, we offer a daily electricity allowance for daily/weekly rentals. Any usage exceeding this allowance will result in guests being responsible for the additional electricity charges incurred. This information can be found in the listing description, rental agreement, and house rules provided before and upon arrival. This approach enables us to offer competitive rates without having to increase the nightly cost to accommodate high electricity costs. We have provided you with a photo of the electricity meter at both check-in and check-out, along with a video showing its location for your self-monitoring during your stay. Please note that the meters are locked and can only be accessed by the electricity company. This process has been transparently carried out for over 15 years. Despite this, you chose not to pay, and Airbnb covered the cost on your behalf. Both water leaks were promptly repaired, one by our team for the interior of the condo, and the other by the condo administration for the exterior. It is noteworthy that you had previously left two excellent 5-star reviews on other platforms before Airbnb intervened and requested payment for extra electricity usage. Throughout the years, numerous guests have chosen to stay at our condos. We welcome both new and returning guests who rent from us annually. It is worth noting that we have never encountered a review containing false allegations like this one before. It is regrettable that we were unable to meet this guest's expectations. Please do not hesitate to address any concerns you may have with us prior to renting. We are confident that you will have a pleasant stay at our condo.
