We enjoyed the cabin. It was clean and in a quiet area. I agree with previous reviews on finding the cabin the first time doing daylight.

End of the road
Everything was reasonably clean and comfortable. The cabin is at the end of a long, steep hill with a mix of gravel and asphalt with some large potholes and ruts. The description states 4 wheel or all wheel drive recommended…I would say it is almost required especially if rain is in the forecast. Wet leaves made the climb difficult for my son’s front wheel drive van. Overall we were very happy with the rental.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
The property was very nice. Had an issue with the door not being powered but was able to get the backup key very swiftly. There wasn’t a grill and warning THE DRIVEWAY IS STEEP! We had an amazing time. 3 couples and it was very peaceful. The wraparound patio was an amazing touch too.

Loved the cabin.. It was a little difficult to find due to not showing up on the gps, but Brittany was very helpful and responsive to any questions I had.

Beware the road
Overall the stay was ok. The location was close to a lot of attractions while being away from the center of everything. The road to get to the cabin was rough. Big pot holes with narrow roads which would be impossible if someone was driving down from one of the other cabins. Also, very steep I would highly recommend an all wheel drive car. If you want to cook, bring your own basics like salt, pepper, cooking spray. It might have two blenders or two coffee pots but didn’t have the little things that you would hope for at a place that has a kitchen. The beds were fine if not a little too soft from the thick foam insert on top of the mattress. If you are a person that has back issues the beds may be a sticking point.
The cabin was poorly maintained and had several safety concerns. The steps entering the cabin were covered in green algae and were slick. 2 of my family members slid and almost fell. The outdoor lighting to come up the steps were very dim and dark. The master room on the main floor had a smoke alarm that was hanging down by the wires, unsure if it even worked. The top of the bar in the kitchen was loose and could possibly fall if you lean on it. The kitchen trash can was not emptied prior to our arrival. Lastly and most concerning was the drive into the cabin, the road conditions definitely require a 4 wheel drive vehicle but the cabin description said only recommended. The road was narrow, muddy, steep, slick and mostly unpaved. The driveway also is steep and did not accommodate our 3 vehicles as described in the cabin details. The details need to be updated so guests aren’t surprised once they arrive like we were.
When we arrived the air was out, but there was a technician there and had it going in no time. We had to call back bc the upstairs air was out also, but they came right back and had that going as soon as we got back from dinner. It was very easy to talk to them and they were very nice! The driveway was very unkept. Just be mindful of this when you are planning your trip. We liked the cabin and it was clean. There was a lot of bug damage on the porch and some of the privacy siding was coming off the porch, but otherwise was nice. We also had a bear come on the porch, which was very neat, but also scary at the same time! It actually climbed in the back of our truck! So it was very scary for a few minutes.
When we arrived for check in,we were informed that the property was unavailable due to a water problem. That part I totally understand! But there was no communication to warn us, and we were left with NO place to stay for this night. We have 6 people coming from all different parts of America meeting here for a family vacation. First the property should be listed as having a 4 wheel drive vehicle would be recommended, I have an SUV, and I definitely need a alignment now because of the path. Other family members arrived in a compact car, there is no way this vehicle could have made it up and down more than a few times. In the dark it is extremely difficult to maneuver this steep, one lane, curvy road, with NO poor lighting. I would not recommend this location for anyone. Next we will address the fact that we were left with NO place to stay for this night. The contact said we needed to call VRBO, mind you it is now 6pm at night. VRBO said we needed to call the booking agent?? I booked everything through the VRBO app for this trip,so I have not spoken with anyone until arriving at the property. After another hour of arguing with someone located in a different time zone, we were left to find a place to stay for 6 people on a Friday night when there was a big college football game tonight (I was unaware of this until calling hotels in area, again we are from out of town). So we had to drive 45 minutes, and pay 600 out of our pockets to have a place to sleep tonight.

Decent spot for the money
Overall the house was decent for the price. The interior was clean but had some visible wear and tear. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated the space in the bedrooms. There is not great seating int he living room, which is depicted in the images but worth noting if your plan is to gather in the kitchen/living room area.I loved that the upstairs bedroom had it's own mini split and could be temperature controlled. The hot tub was relaxing and in good condition and I appreciated the snacks and coffee. The driveway to the house is a little bit intimidating. It's a one car road that varies between asphalt and gravel. The roads are EXTREMELY steep. We arrived in the dark which made it more difficult. I would recommend arriving prior to darkness to get your bearings straight and understand how to navigate the driveway in the daylight. Turning around in the driveway would be nearly impossible with 3 vehicles in it. There was not a lot of space to maneuver around. Overall we would stay in this house again but would not stay with some members of our party who had some mobility issues as that was a challenge.
