Birthday stay on the bay

Stayed two nights to celebrate my birthday. Great house as advertised. Spacious and clean with all the amenities. Extremely peaceful with breathtaking views of the water. Hot tub under the stars in the cool evenings was amazing. The perfect place to chill and relax after all our adventures exploring Nova Scotia Reasonable drive to Yarmouth ferry.

Not for everyone

First the good. The location is excellent, easy to access Digby, Halifax, or Lunenberg. The patio facing the bay is the main attraction and it does not disappoint. The great room is great and the kitchen reasonably well stocked. The downstairs bedroom and bath are spacious. The host was very helpful and was an excellent communicator. Now the bad, the upstairs is very cramped. The owners have crammed a lot of beds into this house. The upstairs bedroom in particularly has a bunk bed and a mini-fridge (why?) that block the built-in dressers. There are no closets upstairs and no place to put anything. The second bedroom could easily be a walk-in closet. When we arrived, the upstairs queen bed did not have clean sheets and the upstairs floors were not very clean. Also, a couple of the pots in the kitchen had to be scrubbed before we could use them. This house would be fine for a family with a bunch of kids that could bunk upstairs with mom and dad downstairs. It would also be good for a group where comfort was secondary. It is absolutely not suitable for two couples. The difference between upsets and downstairs accommodations mean the one couple would be in very inferior situation compared to the other.
