Windy Dreams: an idyllic, cozy seaside PEI cottage
Welcome to Windy Dreams! A beautiful seaside cottage that offers a cozy, private place to stay while you enjoy a vacation full of relaxation and adventure. The location on beautiful Malpeque Bay is perfect for watching the sun rise and set, enjoying a variety of water sports directly off the yard, visiting endless local beaches, historic sites, amusement parks and is relatively close to several amazing restaurants.
As soon as you drive down the quintessential PEI driveway, lined by a golden hay field on one side and a rich red soiled potato field on the other, you'll feel the relaxation start to set in. This one bedroom cottage is fully equipped to feel like a home away from home, but likely a bit smaller! The only thing it is not equipped with is internet - we see this as a positive to allow you to unplug and reconnect with one another and the outdoors. Cell service is strong so you can use data without any trouble if needed.
Bedroom - queen size bed with new memory foam mattress, lots of storage room in armoire and drawers beneath bed Loft - comfortable sectional couch that folds into a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress topper, TV with many DVDs, guitar, rocking chair Bathroom - shower/bathtub, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, towels & facecloths, washing machine and dryer. Kitchen - fully equipped with stove/oven, fridge/freezer, plates, cutlery, pots/pans, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, etc. Shed - includes plenty of storage space for your sports equipment (kites, paddleboards, bicycles, etc). Includes 1 paddle board, 2 kayaks (10 ft and 8ft) and paddles for your use (lifejackets NOT included). Also includes bocce ball, washer toss, and croquet sets.
There's no better way to start the day then with a freshly brewed coffee on the front deck watching the sunrise. After that, the world is your oyster, to use or eat! Kiteboard, paddleboard, or kayak from the front yard in beautiful Malpeque bay, have a beach day, play golf, or visit many of the interesting sites or parks in Cavendish, Summerside, Charlottetown and beyond. For supper, a homemade meal of local lobster and seafood enjoyed at the cottage or going out and experiencing one of the many incredible local restaurants, you can't go wrong. End off your busy day by watching the beautiful sunset sitting by the firetable with friends or family. Stargazing is a must before you head to bed. Tourism PEI License # 2101266

About the host
Hosted by Erika Maher
We are a family of four, myself Erika, my husband Chris and our two young children Sam and Ivy. I grew up on the east coast and we now live in British Columbia but I wanted to keep roots on the east coast. We were fortunate enough to find this little piece of paradise in PEI close to kite beach.
Why they chose this property
This location is perfect for a quiet, relaxing vacation. The bay is usually calm so you can paddle board, kayak in the mornings and in the afternoon if the wind picks up, kite board off the front lawn. If none of this interests you, you can just sit and enjoy the sounds and sights of nature. It really is a magical place.
What makes this property unique
It’s hard to explain…it’s partly the colours…the green of the grass, blue of the sky and ocean, red of the dirt. But it’s the calmness and tranquility that touches your soul that is the magical part.
