Beautiful property
Enjoyed the one night. Pictures are very accurate. Gorgeous views… took a dip in the ocean. Typically canoes are included if provided however there is 50 dollar charge per day per use . Disappointing. Not easy to find. GPS could not locate the property. No phone service.

Hey Robert, Since owners have to pay extra libility insurance to make canoes or kayaks available for rental , they are not typically available for free. The kayaks and canoes, libilty insurance and the regular care of them, cost the owners in both time and money. To expect those extra amenities to be provided for free is unrealistic, especially since rental car companys, do not provide you with the pleasure of using their vehicles for free.
Also, detailed directions to the cottage were provided to you, however, you chose not to follow them , until after google maps led you astray due to no data services in all rural areas.
For our guest, We work hard to ensure a safe pleasurable check in and full enjoyment of our water front cottage by providing canoe and or kayak rentals, including life perservers for your safety and libility insurance. If some guest cannot appreciate the need for this, is best that they lower their unrealistic expectations and bring their own canoes and kayaks!
About the host
Hosted by cindy parmiter
I grew up in Point Leamington and loved to explore all over, hiking, canoeing, fishing, raking mussels, camping, swimming, snorkelling and taking pictures of the various wildlife. There is so much natural beauty here! I am so proud of this area and I love to host people from all cultures, just as I watched my parents host. My husband Bob and I, often treat our guest to an evening cod fishing in our boat or entertain them with a Newfoundland singsong or by sharing our Newfoundland cultural activities with them. Come see what we see and "Live like a Newfoundlander, for a little while".
Why they chose this property
Our neighborhood is very safe and experience close to zero crime. My family has been very fortunate to have had the privilege of growing up in our beautiful small town known as Point Leamington all with an ocean view of the salt water where we often go cod fishing, kayaking, canoeing or by motor boat. We grew up spending many hot summer days swimming and fishing for salmon in the pristine "Mill River", which is located at the entrance to our town. We also swim and kayak in the many little ponds just outside our town . Wild life and sea birds are abundant and often provide many local family's with a much needed source of food. We are a very friendly community and pride ourselves in practicing a healthy living and lifestyle and teaching our children and grandkids respect for people of every race and culture. We would love to be given the opportunity to host you during your precious vacation time in our quiet, but very beautiful and welcoming area of Newfoundand. Come see what we see and let the local people bring memories of laughter, kindness and smiles to your heart. Go with the flow and let yourself "LIVE LIKE A NEWFOUNDLANDER", and take that warm fuzzy feeling in your heart and an extra twinkle in your eye, back home with you!
What makes this property unique
Our cottage is just a couple of feet from the ocean . You may wake in the morning to a beautiful calm sparkling sunny day with nothing only blue ocean in your 180 degree view, and lunch overlooking the water, just inches from the ocean and beach(fresh squid, mackerel, caplin in season). Blue berries, partridge berries, raspberries and bake apples are plentyful season, free for those who choose to pick them. Go for a swim or snorkel in salt water or to the Mill River for a fresh water swim and snorkel to see the Atlantic salmon. Moose, caribou, fox, mink, otters, loons, eagles, whales and icebergs, frequent our area. The cottage is located within 10 minutes of 2 licienced salmon Rivers. It has a beach to walk or beach comb on either side, you can lanch a canoe or kayak from the beach, fish for sea trout and cod fish right off the dock in front of the cottage, or cozy up by a campfire while you watch and hear the salmon jumping in the bay. Since there are no street lights near our cottage, on a clear night, you can see all the star consolations in the sky. Turn on the AC if its too warm, or cozy up to a indoor or outdoor wood fire with warm glowing ambiance on a cool day! ITS ALL YOURS TO ENJOY AND CREATE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES WITH YOUR LOVE ONES.
