We had a great time. The cabin was spacious, comfortable and close to town when we needed things. Enjoyed the use of the boat to explore the lake. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was stocked with what we need to cook.
We enjoyed our stay. It was a short drive to bike trails and other fishing lakes.

Our stay at Long Lake...
We enjoyed our stay very much . Fished on Long Lake with the fishing boat they accommodated. Peaceful and caught lots of fish.If your goal is privacy ,which ours was, this is the place to go.
The house was beautiful. Brett was very accommodating, and everything that we needed was there. Perfect place for a week-long Family Getaway.

Great time!
My friends and I had a great time staying at this house. The lake was super fun and we loved that a row boat came with it. Brand new grill and great fire pit. The bathroom was huge as well. We really enjoyed our stay!
We were looking for peace and quiet and that’s what we got, with beautiful surroundings as well. The cabin was nice and clean and cozy, with easy check in and out. Definitely would go back!
This was our third time staying here. Every year there are more updates. It is super quiet and very peaceful. We are looking forward to our next stay!

Quaint and quiet little cabin tucked back in the woods on a peaceful lake.
We loved our stay at this secluded little spot in the woods. The cabin has many new updates and was furnished with all that we needed to make our stay comfortable. The kids enjoyed fishing, we loved hearing the loon and seeing the deer each night and the dogs loved that they could come along on vacation. We found the place easily with the directions and the neighbors were friendly and considerate. Thanks for a lovely week in the northwoods.

Great Trip
This cabin was perfect for a short get away for me and my 2 boys. The cabin was rustic and had everything we needed. The lake is small, but very peaceful and the rowboat and kayaks were free to use which was nice. We caught plenty of fish. Inside the cabin was clean. It's also in a good location....close to Eagle River, St Germain and Minoqua. We would stay there again!
We were there just after Labor Day so there was zero activity on the lake. We live in downtown Chicago. There is always some kind of noise happening near us. In this cabin and down on the lake it was absolutely quiet except for an occasional bird call. Very refreshing.
The weather for our stay did not work in our favor as it rained and was cold the entire stay. The house was comfortable and warm allowing us to enjoy our stay even if inside. We did get quite a bit of fishing in from the dock. There is definitely a sweet spot out there which caught us fish in most casts. This made it incredibly fun for our 3yr old daughter as it was her 1st time fishing. We enjoyed our stay!
Located on nice lake. Plenty of free kindling and firewood. Lots of hot water.
Someone needs to check on how well the cleaning lady cleans. Pine needles and dirt in bottom of freezer, kitchen wastebasket filthy, bathroom floor filthy, outside of fridge , dishwasher and microwave very dirty, burned food in oven.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Place had mold growing in the bathroom
Mold in bath room. Was not cleaned after the last renters left pile of bedding on the floor
This stay was everything we hoped for- A chance to get away and do nothing but fish, kayak, play with the dog, and have campfires.
Cleanliness was rated lower because it seems there were no professional cleaners involved here. It appears that the current guests were responsible for how clean the cabin would be for the next arriving guest. Cobwebs here and there are expected, in my opinion, at a cabin, but there were items left under beds, couch cushions, and near the bathroom cabinet that we had found and removed during the course of our stay.
4 stars overall and we would still book here again despite the housekeeping.

Worth Repeating
Mike and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was the perfect answer for a much needed vacation. Having spent many summers in the Eagle River area when living in Wisconsin, it was great to be back and enjoy it once again. If we decide to come back to Wisconsin in the future, we would definitely consider this cottage once again. It's assets: private, large, calm and quiet lake, good for swimming, close enough to town for essentials. Liability: the lakefront has a lot of growth near the shore making it somewhat funky to enter from the shore. Suggestion: a ladder attached to the dock for easy enter/easy out.

Peaceful Up North Experience
The cabin and the lake amenities were greatly enjoyed By our teenage grandkids. Our 17 year old grandson caught a 38” Muskie and he’ll remember it for the rest of his life. We rode the Heart of Vilas County bike trail for 24 miles from Boulder Juction to Manitowish Waters and back and drive to Michigan to explore Bond Falls. We made a campfire every morning and evening and relaxed in each other’s company for some great memories during these uncertain times. The TV was turned on once for about an hour...so that alone says the kids enjoyed the lake and campfire. The place was quite and cabin a perfect size for cooking meals. It is perfectly described by host and we appreciated the opportunity to rent. Thanks for letting us stay!
What a great stay! Our long weekend just wasn’t long enough... The cabin was very roomy for six people. There was a set of grandparents, set of parents, and two kids ages 11 and 9. The bathroom was large with a big shower and plenty of water pressure. The kitchen was stocked with paper products due to COVID, and clean bedding/towels were stored in plastic bags prior to our arrival. We appreciated the extra precautions under the circumstances. We loved all the nice appliances and large refrigerator! The gas fireplace and space heaters came in handy for a chilly June weekend. The fire pit was awesome and there was ample firewood. The dock was a great place to fish and dock the aluminum row boat that was there for us to use. Fishing was fun and hearing the loons was amazing! There was so much wildlife to observe right in the back yard! The owner was very responsive to minor mechanical issues. We would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend this place!

Quiet, peaceful, pretty setting but...
My husband and I arrived on a rainy day, the next day damp and cloudy so we spent much of our time indoors the first two days. It was tough to find things to keep us busy as the cabin was minimally equipped for indoor activities. Very few local TV channels, no cable. We did not find cards, games, etc.The kitchen was short on a few basic items such as a cutting board, wine glasses. The bathroom was damp and musty smelling so was concerned about possible mold growth, the furniture was worn and rather uncomfortable. The beds were a bit hard for our likes, the lighting was very inadequate in the bedrooms and family room and the bedrooms lacked simple bedside tables to set a book, water etc. on. Wish there were written instructions on how to use anything really... the TV(two remotes), the heat/fireplace.Heat was needed our last night/ morning there as it got down to 40 degrees. Lastly, can't figure out why there is a beautiful hydrangea plant off the deck that blocks your ability to go down the steps or see the lake from the kitchen or deck. For the cost, it was so-so. Sorry didn't find a lot to be positive about other than the surrounding area is quiet and pretty. Everyday we saw a family of deer on the driveway and surrounding yards. We took nice walks down the quiet street each morning :)

Home away from Home...
There is nothing that we didn't enjoy about our stay; it was perfect for what we needed. I loved the fact that it was fully equipped, including a washer/dryer and a rowboat, which we used almost daily. It was close enough to town and far enough, as well. There were cabins next door (on both sides) but we never saw a soul. The fishing was great, from the bank and the boat. I made dinner, baked cookies and bread while my husband fished...it really felt like home away from home. I loved that it had a "mud room" as you enter the back door for all of the fishing gear, wet shoes etc. The bathroom and the master bedroom were both large, plenty of space throughout. We did not use the second bedroom at all with just the two of us. I was able to capture some really beautiful photos of the lake as the sun was rising and we saw eagles daily. My husband even witnessed a deer swimming across the lake in the early morning hours (as an eagle flew overhead) what a site to see! The owner left a cell number for anything we might need and was available to answer questions. We did not have an outdoor fire due to the windy and cold weather, but the fire pit is right at the lake. The back deck looks out at the lake with sliding glass doors. So while I was in the kitchen cooking I felt like I was a part of what was going on outside too. We also went for a walk down the country road, which was nice. We never went out to eat because we enjoy being at home, but we did go to the movie one night. We look forward to returning next year for two weeks! The only thing I would recommend would be a guest journal, for leaving comments/observances/outings. It's fun reading the experience of others when they have traveled the same road, and great to get ideas of things to possibly do. If I would have thought about it then, I would have started one and left it. :) Thanks for allowing us to share in this space for the short time that we did.

Beautiful Land and Lake
From the beginning, Brett was incredibly accommodating, which is always appreciated. The property is lush and beautifully situated on Long Lake-- a perfect environment to sit on the waterfront and get lost in the serenity of nature.
I would have liked to have given this experience a 5-star review. I arrived with my sweetheart to unwind from city stress-- to fish, enjoy long breakfasts and simply "be." This feat proved to be a bit difficult the first few days given that the Annex has two neighbors who more or less share the land. The neighbors apparently had their many grandchildren over for the long holiday weekend so needless to say, it wasn't exactly quiet and still. It's ok though. For future renters, simply be aware that this property is not isolated in the woods, as we believed it was and there is the potential of having to share your solitude with others.
As far as the cabin itself goes, it was well arranged-- pretty clean and had many great amenities to offer. Unfortunately, the challenges that we encountered with our accommodations were problematic for us. Our queen-sized (or was it full-sized?) bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The mattress is very old and after a day of being out on the rowboat fishing, you long for a comfy bed to rest your weary bones. Every morning we woke up with severe neck and back pain. The pillows are yellowed and very old as well. The mildew has taken a toll on them, so we encountered allergy attacks every night when we attempted to get some rest. Unfortunately, our bed linens had holes in them too. A bit disappointing.
Another challenge to be aware of is the water pressure in the bathroom, or lack thereof. Our showers were prolonged by the fact that we were trying to rinse under a trickle of water. Hopefully this little problem can be resolved simply by replacing the old showerhead? Important to note that we never ran out of hot water, so that was a plus! However, this might have been negated by the fact that the water appears to be untreated, so be prepared to encounter brownish-colored water which smells/tastes heavily of iron and minerals.
All in all, our experience was a good one, despite the challenges presented above. I think that this cabin is perfect for families with children who need a lot of space to live and play. If you're an adult couple looking to unwind, maybe this property isn't exactly perfect for you-- unless of course the mattress, pillow, and water situation are improved.

Thank you for the review! We will look into the shower and the bedding/pillow issues ASAP and get them resolved. I would have addressed the water pressure immediately if I was aware, as I do not typically use that cabin, That is a hard thing to notice.
Sorry for the neighbors next door, the one side is just separated by some sparse trees... typically quiet, but if the entire family was there, i could see it being a bit loud. The other side is a place owned by my parents, they are never noticeable :)...
Appreciate the honest feedback and we'll be addressing these issues.
