One of three cottages to experience beautiful sunset views with Birch Lake frontage. Dog friendly

This rustic two-bedroom, one-bathroom log cabin on Birch Lake near Elk Rapids is a perfect vacation spot for a small family or couple. Enjoy the sparkling blue hues and hard sandy bottom of this all-sports lake. The main space in the home is an open living room, kitchen, and dining area.

Outside there is a cute little porch perfect for morning coffee. Talk about relaxing! The yard is spacious enough for kids to play and the dog to run. There is also a dock, shared waterfront and water toys, and a fire pit to relax by.

The house is near the Great Lakes Equestrian Horse Show, Turtle Creek Casino, and Elk Rapids. Traverse City is an easy 15-minute drive.

One well-mannered dog is allowed, and owners must clean up after their pets.

Need more space? Rent one or both of the other Trick's Resort cottages: Yellow and Red Cottage.

The property manager was easy to work with. Had issue with finding the cabin, make sure you read the properties decription it will take you in the last 1/8 mile. Cabin condition where ok , top bunk missing slats and sheets where left on for some time. No ac but that was fine and expectied. Access to lake is cut by a road and 2 cabins we where unsure if we could access the lake. If you want to rough it in the woods within spitting distance from lake michigan stay here.

Filthy

The cabin was filthy and needed deep cleaning. In detail: There were cobwebs hanging places that were obviously many years old. The floor had not been cleaned within for 4" of the wall for years. It is an old rustic cabin which was expect. On day two the rental company called us to check in on our stay. I told them this. They said they recently took on the property for renting but had not seen it yet. They offered me a discount on a future rental. I said that was a nothing they should offer some type of discount on this rental. She said she would check on that. They have not contacted me. Ultimately, we left after two of the three nights that we paid for and found a clean hotel to stay in. I am not one to bother leaving negative reviews but others should not repeat our experience.
