About this property
4 season 3 bdrm cottage w/ many amenities. Family/pet-friendly. Close to lake
New cottage with all the amenities of home, but nature is right out the door. Wood burning fireplace, skiing and ice fishing in the winter, beaches all around in the summer.
We’ve stocked our cottage with all the conveniences including high-speed wireless internet. 3 sizeable bedrooms sleep 6 along with 1 full and 1 half bathrooms.
The screened-in porch is a haven to enjoy a drink after activities during the day, or just to relax with a book.
In the fall and winter the wood-burning stove makes the whole cottage warm and cozy.
You’re still connected if you want to be: super fast wifi and a 55 inch 4K TV with many streaming services for movie night.
If you’re looking for quality family time we’ve got many board games. Or choose some reading from our book shelf.
The neighbourhood is something really special: cute and quiet, the cottage is a couple of minutes walk from Lake Winnipeg. There’s beaches all around and only a 10 minute drive from the boardwalk at Winnipeg Beach and a 20 minute drive to Gimli for shopping, dining and festivals.
There’s so much to do year round!

About the host
Hosted by Howard and Amanda Almdal

We are family of 5 that live in Winnipeg. Our cottage in Dunnattor/Matlock is our favourite place! We're beach people and really enjoy being near the water and our cottage neighbourhood is a coastal community, so it fits the bill.
Why they chose this property
There's so many cottage communities in Manitoba, but many of them are busy. We love our cottage neighbourhood because it's quiet and has many year-round residents. There's also many beaches and the cottage is a short drive to amenities, so you have access to everything you need (Winnipeg Beach 10 minute drive, Gimli 20 minute drive).
In the summer there's farmers' markets, festivals (Gimli Icelandic and Film Festivals), and many other activities. In the winter there's cross country skiing and people come from far and wide for the ice fishing.

What makes this property unique
Above all our property is new and has many modern amenities. We always say "we want to be near nature, but we don't want to sleep or watch a movie in it". We have all of the luxuries of home: air conditioning, high-speed internet, big screen TV, full kitchen (including dishwasher), wood-burning stove, etc. and because the cottage is new construction, it's perfectly comfortable year-round.
One amazing feature is our screened-in porch, where we spend a lot of our time in the summer.
Finally, in the winter the wood-burning stove is something really special: after spending time outside the stove warms the whole cottage and makes for a very cozy experience!
