There are Pros and Cons for this house.....Pros - Communication with Carly(host) was A1.Housed 8 adults easily with beds for everyone.Had private lock-up area for our motorbikes.Games room with Pool table and Darts.Nice common areas to eat or chat, inside and outside, with room to enjoy private time.Location is great. Can walk to just about everything you need and want see.Cons--Being on a main road, traffic noise is extremely noticeable, especially at night. While enough beds for 8 adults, it required mattresses on the floor as the bunk beds cannot support adult weight. The house required/s a major spring clean with detail. While location, communication and price were great, the Cons are enough to prevent us from a return trip.
The size of the property alone is 5 stars! We all truly felt at home for the night with so much room to move about for 10 adults. You’d think there would be some noise being on a main road, but we could barely hear a thing. Great location and a minute walk to Noky at the Henry where we had a great dinner. Communication prior to check in was great and the process was so easy. Comfortable and modern furnishings. Will certainly book again when in Mount Gambier!
We are an older family with adult children. We came down to Mount Gambier for a funeral. It was peaceful even though it was on the main road. We had enough rooms and beds, and there were enough living spaces to have several things happening at once.
We were roadtripping from Adelaide to Melbourne and overnighted in Mt. Gambier. We were a family of 5 so we only had access to the main house. It sleeps 10, but 5 or less people only access the main house. Overall, I would recommend this place and think they've done a great job. It's right off a main road and does have some constant traffic, but the noise wasn't too much of an issue. The decor and comfort was reasonable and we did make use of the washing machine. The dryer hadn't been cleaned out at all (neither had the vacuum for guests). But after running a cycle through the night, eventually the clothes dried. Beds were comfortable and living room had a Christmas tree which was a thoughtful touch. It's a lot of bedding to strip in the morning, but we managed. The biggest surprise was there was only one toilet (my fault for not looking at the listing more carefully). But the owners have done a nice job remodeling an older building and there was parking in the driveway. We chose not to use the garage since it was just one night. The only real complaint was the molding lemons in the kitchen... and runner up, the traffic from the busy road. But those are minor details and for a small town, I would recommend staying here.
