The Space:

Sailors Cottage is designed for simple, relaxed island living. The open plan layout keeps the space easy to use and welcoming, with the living and kitchen areas opening directly onto a sunny, private deck. Sliding doors allow fresh air to move through the cottage, making indoor and outdoor living feel closely connected.



Inside, the living area is comfortable and uncluttered, with a sofa, television, and dining nook suited to quiet evenings after a day exploring the island. The kitchen is well equipped for simple meals at home and includes a coffee machine for slow mornings.



The bedroom is calm and private, with a comfortable queen bed and soft natural light. The modern bathroom includes a walk in shower and practical amenities for short or longer stays. A heat pump provides year round comfort, keeping the cottage warm in winter and cool through summer.



The fully fenced garden offers a private outdoor space and makes the cottage suitable for guests travelling with pets by prior approval.

Sailors Cottage by Stay Waiheke sits in one of the most convenient pockets of Oneroa. A gentle five-minute walk leads to the village’s cafés, bakeries, boutique shops, and easy dining options. Oneroa Beach is close enough for morning swims, sunset walks, and lazy afternoons on the sand.



Nearby highlights include Mudbrick and Cable Bay vineyards, Artworks precinct, the Saturday Ostend Markets, and the coastal paths around Owhanake and Church Bay. You’ll be right in the centre of the island’s most-loved food, wine, and coastal experiences.



Getting Around:

The closest bus stop is on Ocean View Road, connecting you to services running between the ferry terminals, Oneroa, Palm Beach, Ostend, and Onetangi. Buses also stop near popular vineyards and The Heke Brewery.



Taxis and shuttles are available island-wide but can be expensive at peak times. Parking is provided at the property for guests with a car.



Other Things to Note:

The cottage is supplied by rainwater tanks, so guests are asked to be mindful of water use.
