About this property

Unique patriomonial brick house in historic Vieux-Beloeil

CITQ #300623
This unique red brick house is right in the earth of Vieux Beloeil, within walking distance of all the restaurants, bars, cafes, riverfront...
You’ll love the view of Mont Saint-Hilaire and the Richelieu river. It has high ceiling, huge rooms, in beautiful setting facing the river, with large porch around the house and nice private backyard with a small fireplace :-). It has perfect for big families with kids, family reunions, groups, associations of people, business travellers... Nearby are a marina, a chocolate shop, creperia, a brewery/pub, historic church, riverfront terrace, art gallery and shops, and much more to discover!
35 minutes from downtown Montreal.
Grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy, dollarstore, gas station, convenience store are all nearby within a 5 minute drive.

I have a small unit on the property (mostly used as office/storage), in a completely independant unit on the opposite side of the house. I do not share any accesses or areas with guests, and only interact upon request. I believe in letting guests have total privacy during their stay, but will be happy to come chat if asked or to bring around anything you need that could be missing :-)

Great property!

Martin was a really great host! He gave us alot of privacy, was easy to work with, and accommodated all of our requests! The property was very clean and well furnished. It was cozy to host our friends. The rules for the house and check out were simple. The outdoor area was also really great - beautiful lights, bonfire area, and a hot tub that was very well maintained. We were also easily able to walk along the river and enjoy beautiful views near the property. Highly recommend and would stay here again!

Lovely house in a lovely location

We had a lovely stay in Beloeil over the Christmas holidays with our family. The house was spacious and big enough to house everyone and it stayed warm despite the negative degrees outside. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and enjoyed the pub down the street. A great spot if you're looking for a quiet, quaint stay but still close enough to the city to go in for the day.

UOttawa Health Science Student Association Stay in Vieux-Beloeil

We had 17 members of the UOttawa Health Science Student Association who stayed at this lovely property in Vieux-Beloeil. We absolutely loved the beautiful small town and the property itself. It was very well-kept and the property owner was lovely, very accommodating, and very easy to reach. Thank you so much for a beautiful weekend!

High school reunion

Ten HS friends from the U.S. gathered in Beleoil for a week to visit the eastern townships and Montreal. We are all 75+ in age. The house is large with a well provisioned kitchen. Large living room where we gathered before dinners. Beds all fine with adequate sheets and towels. Didn’t feel like a ski lodge. Best aspect was walking distance to many excellent restaurants. And easy travel into Montreal and eastern townships. Terrific communication with the owner. The hot tub was a real plus during the cool evenings. Plenty of off street parking. Highly recommended for large groups.

Excellent trip

The house was old, with some modern bathroom remodeling. Very comfortable beds and clean. Very spacious. Beautiful town, it was right next to the river, some mosquitoes were found in the property. They should change the towels, they are old also. But overall great house.

Excellent for big group events and celebrations

Each year for the past 7 years (except during the pandemic) my siblings and our spouses/partners get together for a reunion. There were 10 of us in the family and 2 have sadly passed. We are in our 60s and 70s. This year we picked Montreal as our venue. My search for a place to house 17 adults for a week yielded a few results. Finding a house with 8 bedrooms and more than 4 full baths was challenging. But after 2 months of searching I found this beautiful ancestral house in a picturesque setting in Beloeil. The amazing gallery of pictures cinched the deal. We all fell in love with it! We just finished our week and enjoyed our stay enormously. Hated to leave, would have loved to stay longer. The house is in great condition. Nice yard. Charming, warm and homey. Situated across the river with amazing views. Wraparound porch a favorite hangout. Visited Fort Chambly, Hertel lake, apple orchards. Day trips to the city of Montreal an hour away. Quebec city about 2 hours away. Pilgrimage church of St. Anne de Beaupre about 2-1/2 hours. St. Matthew Catholic church 2 houses down. 8 good-sized bedrooms. 5 full baths+1/2 bath. House nicely furnished. Kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, dishes that will serve well a family that likes to cook and eat in. Wifi worked very well. Grocery stores, restaurants, small shops within walking distance. Our host Martin is the best! Very responsive, accommodating, considerate and helpful. This venue was an excellent and happy choice for us!

INCREDIBLE location for a family reunion!

We rented the big brick house for our wedding week, which we used as the home base for our family visiting from out of town. It was the most perfect place for a family reunion and our family absolutely loved it! It is in an amazing location, right in front of the Richelieu river, and my family members loved sitting on the big porch and looking out at the river. We also enjoyed taking many wedding photos at the river right in front of the house! We also appreciated how close it was to Vieux-Beloeil where we went out for dinner, for ice cream, grocery shopping etc. The house is also not very far from downtown Montreal, for anyone wanting to explore the city. The house had all of the amenities necessary for the large group and the many bedrooms and bathrooms were essential in order to ensure everyone had their own space. Communication with the owner Martin was flawless and he even let us visit the house beforehand so that we could ensure it would suit our needs. Everyone in my family had such an amazing visit and it was in large part because of this house. Without a doubt, we would rent this house again! Thank you so much Martin!

Perfect place for a family gathering

This was a perfect place for our family group to gather. We ended up going into Montreal less than we had planned because we had such a good time in the house and exploring Beloeil. Great food and croissants within walking distance! Everything was clean and comfortable and Martin was an extremely responsive host. Highly recommend!

Wonderful big house, just a few steps from the town center. Our only suggestion for future groups: note how to work the tv (we figured it out but it took 3 days.)

Delightful stay on the river.

This was our first trip to Montreal and we liked the idea of staying outside the city. Old town Beloeil turned out to be perfect with excellent restaurants and friendly people. We loved the historic house and would have liked more time to sit on the porch and enjoy the river view. The house is spacious and clean, well stocked and comfortable. There were no surprises with the booking. The owner made the entire process easy and the house was exactly as I anticipated from the listing. A lovely stay! We'd recommend this home for any large group.

Perfect for Team Offsite!

Property exactly as listed. Was wonderful! Lots of rooms and bathrooms and 2 very large rooms to more than accomodate meetings with 11 people. The town is so very beautiful and quaint and all in all about 40 minutes from the airport. Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot just a short drive away from downtown!

Book group getaway

Perfect spot for our book group to get away for a long weekend. The house was roomy for 8 of us. We loved the porch and the cute picnic area across the street next to the river. Amazing view. Was perfect spot for relaxing after a fun day in the city. Everything was clean. Plenty of towels. Beds and linens were super comfy and cozy. The large dining room and living room were great for sharing food and conversation all together. We wished we had more time to explore the cute little town.

Great Ladies Weekend

We were in town for a spa weekend with a group of longtime friends. We found this listing when looking for houses near the Forena Spa. The location is in the center of the old Beloeil, a charming town on the water with a beautiful view of Mount St-Hilaire. Boloeil has cute restaurants, cafes, wine bars and microbreweries. The house itself is huge and gorgeous. A beautiful historical home with many bedrooms. Many of the bedrooms have their bathroom, which was very convenient. There is a large living room, dining room, and kitchen with everything you need to cook at home. The hot tub was very clean and a great way to wind down in the evening. Martin was responsive, communicative, and kind. I highly recommend this stay! Natalie

Wonderful Christmas Experience

My husband and I brought our 3 adult children and daughter-in-law for Christmas from 12/20-12/28. The house is absolutely charming, and Martin is a great host and very responsive. The house is large enough that everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and thensome! We had room to be alone and plenty of room to come together to cook, eat, play games and watch television. The hot tub was impeccable, and we enjoyed the fire pit as well. The kitchen had ample space and everything we needed including 2 refrigerators. Upon request, Martin kindly recommended La Mista for our Christmas Eve meal which was amazing, and he suggested Fuzion Chez Soi from which I ordered and took delivery of a complete Christmas Meal, so we could eat at home and not have to cook. It was perfect! Brasseur du Moulin is a great pub less than 2 minutes walking distance from the house, and we were "regulars" there for the time. Everyone in town was friendly, and all the restaurants were within a very quick walk. Getting to Montreal was easy. Vieux Beloeil is a lovely town with beautiful views. Unfortunately, it didn't snow during our visit, but you can never count on the weather! We were happy to just stay in the house and read, play games and visit, but it was easy to get out and do things as well. We loved it so much, we hope to visit in warmer months! Everyone in Beloeil was gracious and helpful and accommodated our lack of the French language! I highly recommend Martin's home!

Wonderful House, Very Enjoyable!

This large historic house was perfect. The kitchen is well stocked and efficient. The two fridges gave us lots of room for all our needs. Despite being next to a busy road, the house was so extremely quiet on both levels. This large two-story house conveniently has washrooms in most of bedrooms. The bedrooms are very spacious and quiet, and the beds comfortable. We loved the hot tub too! The neighborhood is safe with restaurants and pubs within walking distance. We had a wonderful time in Montreal and would definitely rent this house again. Thank you, Martin, for being a great host. A perfect stay!

Beautiful home

We had 7 adults stay for a long weekend. Great house with many bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice to come back to this home every night after a long day of touring Montreal and Quebec. Cute town with great restaurants. Ordered pizza our last night and finally used the huge dining room! Would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful home.
