The outside of the building could do with some updating but inside was fine apart
from the dirty and cracked window.
Plenty of kitchen equipment and comfortable seats and bed. Shower room was lovely and towels provided.
Nice garden to sit out and have a drink.
Overall a nice stay.
The rooms was spotless, its a very old building but modern and decorated beautifully, the bathroom was so clean and the shower was nice and powerful. The man was really friendly and the building its self is just amazing, all 5 of us (3 kids ) were impressed. The beds are the comfiest weve ever slept on.
100% would recommend this place .
The view is beautiful, the atmosphere is friendly theres fields with cows surrounding it and friendly chickens running around. Nice stay if u love the peace, the shop is walking distance too.
We really enjoyed our stay, even though we arrived late. There were plenty of places nearby to buy something to eat, as well as a pub, which was very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable.
The only issue we experienced was with the bathroom. We tried to use the bathtub, but there was no cold water running to mix with the hot water, and the bathtub stopper wasn't working, so we couldn't use it properly. I think this is something worth looking into.
Apart from that, everything else was perfect, and we had a great stay.
We arrived late to the accommodation, having informed the hosts in advance. Access directions were accurate .
The ‘old’ house is not in a good state of repair and Flat 7b requires serious cleaning and decor repair .
The carpets were heavily stained, as was the sofa (to the point of not using it), with dubious markings in the beds. The ceiling was stained (above the bed) .The kitchen cleaning materials & Tea towel had obviously been used by the previous occupants. One of the showers failed to work at all.
There are not hotel personnel on site - all communication is via the Hotel.Com app.
The views from the windows are of a building in decay .. such a shame for a once majestic building..
Due to late arrival, we stayed one night out of three and ‘checked out’ the following morning.
Possibly the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I didn’t receive the check in instructions, so on arriving had to spend around an hour trying to figure things out. There are no staff at the property and the phone number on their website is incorrect. Room had no bin, no mirror or tea & coffee facilities. This is a basic. No outdoor lighting and slippery broken decking steps is a health and safety hazard. Another guest kept leaving the main door open, and one night I took my dog out in the night to find other guests out in the garden smoking drugs. Absolutely unacceptable on all counts.
Ignore Karen’s review! Don’t be afraid to stay here.
This is a lovely, quirky place. Super clean. Quiet. Check in was a breeze. There were two people waiting for us when we arrived and someone carried everything upstairs for us. It was a great place to stop overnight. We stayed on the top floor in a very big, pretty room that fit five (we were 4). Shared bathroom, but we were the only ones upstairs, so no big deal. The little black cat is super friendly and likes a little love. The chickens too.
Fantastic restaurants nearby and easy access to Edinburgh. We loved it.
