We loved our getaway and especially loved John and the farm animals. Our 4 year old did not want to leave and has been asking for John, Nellie farm dog, and all the animals.

Lovely house with nice enclosed backyard for dog. Set well back off the road amongst a pretty leafy garden. Only a short drive to the local shops.

The property is presented beautifully and is right on the edge of the village a short walk to cafes, food store, etc. It has everything needed for a relaxing stay (including the fresh bread loaf awaiting arrival). Our two whippets felt immediately at home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this area.

We had a wonderful , peaceful stay at the cottage. The only issue was that it was too short but I will stay again. John and Peter are very lovely people and make great hosts. They make themselves available if you need anything. The grounds were awesome, just so pretty and I took quite a few photos of the scenery to use as reference photos for my artwork. I loved the cottage it was so peaceful

We enjoyed a fabulous stay in Christopher’s Cottage. The view was beautiful and enjoyed from inside the cottage and around the outdoor fire pit. The well equipped kitchen was perfect for creating meals to share around the fire. Our Labrador loved the huge back garden. A short walk across the road for delicious pastries, pies, bread and coffee and easy access to a huge range of walks and ciders! Absolutely divine, we would love to come back for a longer stay.

The house and land was very spacious and we enjoyed a stroll around the grounds too. We appreciated the house heating system and the fireplace since we went in the middle of winter. Kitchen was well equipped. Location is great, just before the blue mountains and it’s on a hill where there’s a view of Sydney. Room for improvement is that the sofa bed in the master was more like a single bed than a double bed, and uncomfortable if you slept in the middle because of the fold. I suggest update the listing descriptions on beds, and also get a sofa bed similar to the lounge one in the master.

We booked this alpaca farm stay for the long weekend really last minute. However we were not disappointed. Anne was very approachable and prompt with all enquires. The cabin itself was spotless clean with views overlooking the alpaca farm, well maintained gardens and native bush. The bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. We also hired a port a cot for our 2 year old son. Our son especially enjoyed the alpaca feeding experience and chasing after free range chickens, he also enjoyed playing with the mini kitchen in the lounge and toys in the garden . We didn’t use but other guests enjoyed playing tennis, having a BBQ in gazebo. The swimming pool was too cold for us to jump in. We enjoyed exploring the retreat peacefully in beautiful sunset. Highly recommended for animal loving families in winter ( loved log fireplace).

Beautiful, peaceful property, friendly and adorable labradoodle dogs (which are mostly kept fenced off). Plenty of birdlife, ducks in the pond and neighbouring ponds at the bottom of the valley outlook. Green rolling hills - a nice view to wake up to. Great brazier and seating around for a cosy evening fire. Good mobile coverage (under OPTUS at least) so you're not completely untethered. Quick access to Bilpin and local attractions. The aircon works but struggles to cool even this tiny home, not much of a problem in Spring but it could be stifling in Summer. Composting toilet is amazingly effective and odour-free. Great and fast hot water.
