A grand old 1920's Californian Bungalow located in the heart of the Huon Valley and just 40 minutes south of Hobart, the B&B is set amongst 2 acres of English style gardens overlooking glorious views of the Huon River and beyond. Privacy and personal service is assured, with only two ensuite guest rooms, separate tea room with microwave, fridge, large guest lounge and private entrance. We have retained features of a bygone era but still offer modern facilities. Retire to one of two beautifully furnished bedrooms, both with Queen sized beds and Ensuites ( one with Spa Bath. ) Electric blankets, hairdryers, TV and videos are all supplied in the large rooms.
Relax in front of the log fire in the guest lounge while enjoying afternoon tea on arrival and peruse our collection of DVD'S and Videos. Tea making facilities are also there for your convenience in a seperate Tea/Reading room.
A generous continental breakfast with home made breads, pikelets and muffins is provided in the dining room or on the balcony overlooking the Huon River. Donalea really is a private country retreat and a perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy all the Huon Valley has to offer.

Complete privacy with over 10 squares of living space, private verandah and gardens. Awake to superb views of the Huon River from the Master bedroom. A complimentary breakfast basket is provided for the first morning of your stay, including cereals, bread, fruit juice, tea/coffee etc.
There are 2 bedrooms (accommodates up to 4 adults), with one Queen & one Double bed. Large bathroom with deep bath & separate shower.
The kitchenette has a microwave, bake & grill, large fridge, electric jug and toaster. An outside barbecue and washing machine is provided with own personal washing line.
River view apartment is modern living in a very peaceful country property and a perfect base for exploring the Huon Valley.

Walk amongst the tree tops, up to 37 metres above the forest floor, overlooking the Huon & Picton rivers. Experience the swinging bridges, eagle glide and fascinating walks along the Huon River.

HOME HILL WINERY...(30 MIN)
Come and enjoy a Tasmanian Boutique Vineyard, winery and restaurant. Home Hill produces a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a late harvest Sticky Wine.

HARTZ MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARKS......(30 MINS)
Known for its pristine wilderness and remoteness, the mountains are dominated by the 1255 metre Hartz Peak, with superb pamoramic views over the south west wilderness and the Tasman Peninsula.

HOBART...(45 MIN)
A city of bustling markets, fun, festivals and entertainment, a flourishing arts scene and of fine restaurants. Savour Tasmania's superb cool - climate wines, famous beers and delicious fresh foods. Of course, the Salamanca market is a must visit every Saturday as is the Chocalate Cadbury Factory and Mount Wellington.

HASTINGS CAVES....(60 MIN)
Relax in the warm waters of a thermal springs pool, walk in the rich forests of the reserve and experience a fascinating tour through enormous dolomite caves formed 40 million years ago.

IDA BAY RAILWAY....Lune River (60 min)
Ride to the end of the line on Australia's most southern railway. The 7km trip takes you through bushland abundant with bird life and wild flowers across button grass plains and along the banks of Ida Bay and Lune River estuary.

Donalea Bed and Breakfast is a perfect base to explore many of Southern Tasmania's beautiful attractions.
