This unique 2 storey timber pole home features on the upper level, 4 large bedrooms, 3 with Queen Beds, 1 with 3 Single Beds, all feature doors opening onto large spacious verandas. There are 2 large Bathrooms, and separate Toilets. All linen is supplied.

There is a large functional kitchen including lots of bench space, cupboards, Fridge/Freezer, Electric Bench cooktop with a separate Electric Wall Oven and Dishwasher. The kitchen is equipped with all saucepans, frypans, electric frypan, microwave oven, slow cookers, utility knives, juicer, fine china, glassware and cutlery.

There are large living and dining areas decorated with modern decor and furniture. For your pleasure there is a 72” wall mounted TV ,DVD stereo system.

The house is fully Air Conditioned and all rooms have Ceiling Fans and open onto and are surrounded by large Verandas with magnificent uninterrupted views over Wonga Beach the Coral Sea and Islands.

Situated on one of the decks you will have lots of fun in the large heated outdoor Spa/Jacuzi which seats up to 8, enjoy the magnificent views whilst you sip your glass of champagne.

On the front deck you will find a great BBQ along with all your outdoor furniture setting & comfy chairs to lay back in and relax.

On the lower level there is an open laundry with tub, washing machine, dryer and clothes line & pegs. There are magnificent gardens, all with sweeping views and plenty of room for exploring.

We are visited by wallabies, a cassowary or two,lace monitor lizards,many other lizard species, green tree frogs, dainty tree frogs and numerous other species. There are many walks for you to explore on the property.

Things To Do

No Visit to the Daintree Rainforest would be complete without taking a cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef. We organise this for you and by booking with our Tour Desk you will receive a unique discount not available through any other source!

Another "must" thing to do in the Daintree is a walk through the ancient rainforest itself. We can organise for you to have a guided day or night walk (or both)lasting approx 2 hours. Or you may be just content to guide yourself on the very many free walks available in the area.

There are lots of cruises on the Daintree River and also up the pristine Cooper Creek, these can also be organised through our great Tour Desk. There are also many early morning bird watching cruises that can be organised.

For those of you that enjoy fishing, we can also organise fishing trips from the Daintree River or more sophisticated fishing from Port Douglas.

Try Jungle Surfing through the Canopies of the Ancient Rainforest, this is the very best fun of all!!

The Discovery Centre is only a stone throw away from the Retreat and is a great place to visit and you will spend many hours there.

There are many fine restaurants and cafes to explore in the Daintree, Mossman & Port Douglas areas. A magnificent Glass House at Miallo during the dry season only.

House Features

The Beach House is fully furnished with quality new furniture and fittings. There is everyday china for you to use or for something special you will be able to have use of our delightful classic dining settings and glassware. Each room has been fitted with special furniture, artwork and decor, there are many unique forms of artwork distributed throughout the house.

At night you can sit on one of the decks or in your bed and listen to the water lapping on the shores of Wonga Beach.

The night lights are also enthralling to see and the sound of the Curlews at night sends a little thrill down the spine!!!

We have seen wallabies in the early morning and evenings, the odd Cassowary will wander through the property, as it is surrounded by the Daintree National Park (Dagmar Ranges section)and you will also be lucky to spot the occasional goanna and large lace monitor lizards that live around the area.

You can be adventurous and wander through the bush that borders on the property as there is special fauna and flora to be seen.

Not far from the House (about 10 minute walk) you will come onto Wonga Beach where you can walk right up to the mouth of the Daintree River. There is a great childrens playground on the foreshore along with gas bbqs etc.
