Description

All the comforts of home: well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, ice maker fridge/freezer, wide screen TV, high speed internet connection (bring your own laptop to access), indoor and outdoor dining areas, panoramic views of the Coral Sea from the lounge and dining rooms. Quality linen, towels and toiletries.

There are four bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The main bedroom with attached large bathroom has complete privacy in its own pavilion in the garden. 2 bedrooms are airconditioned but this is rarely needed as sea breezes keep the house and pavilions at a comfortable temperature all year round.

Comfortable family home

The property lies between the sea and a park with large tropical trees and masses of birds. The owners stay here regularly and have made this their second home with modern equipment and furnishings.

You can unwind gazing out to sea or float around in the pool and spa admiring the tropical garden.

The pool can be heated or cooled as required and is 25m long for lap swimming if you want to keep fit. At night watch the stars from the outdoor spa.

Walk via bush or beach to the mouth of the Barron River. Fish from the steps at the front of the house with prawns caught with your cast net like the locals do.

Area attractions

150m along the beach Sonia’s bar and restaurant is open every evening and all day on the weekends or it is a short drive or bus trip to Cairns restaurants and nightlife. Basic needs are supplied by the local shops, a takeaway food store, a post office and a service station with mini mart.

All the tours to the Great Barrier Reef or tours to the Daintree rainforest, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation ,the Atherton tablelands pick up from Machans Beach

Machans Beach is a small community set between sugar cane fields, the Barron River, the bush and the sea. It retains the look and atmosphere of the old Cairns. Yet Machans is the closest of all Cairns beaches to the city for shopping and nightlife.

Guest Reviews
Excellent location! Close enough to Cairns city itself but also far from the madding crowd. Excellent view. Comfortable family home!
