Loved our stay here. We stayed in fancy hotels in other areas but nothing beat our time in Ubud in this villa. The pool is bigger than it looks, it outdoor showers are great. There’s minimal kitchen inventory but enough to make a few meals. We didn’t know the two rooms are in in either end of the house. As o

We were greeted at the door by Yoshiko. Lovely to meet with her again. She explained changes that had happened since Covid. The machiya is a piece of history and is so peaceful. The bath is amazing with a feature that will fill then notify you that it is ready. The garden off the bedroom is a calming place to enjoy. This is such a well situated place to stay. We would love to return.

We have been to Bali dozens of times and always stayed in the traditional tourist areas of Seminyak, Canggu, so though we would give the Northern Beached region a go. WELL, what an extremely amazing choice this was, as the Villa Yudhistira experience was AMAZING. The villa, villa location, villa setting and most of all the local villa staff made this 10 day break one of our best ever. The villa itself is nestled on the beachfront in the Brongbong Village area, not far from Seririt (15 mins by car), Lovina (30 mins) and Singaraja (45 mins). The villa staff are what made the stay exceptional (and we travel a lot) - Budi coordinates any chosen activities and the staff, doing so with a very easy going, approachable manner (very good English). The villa staff had three ladies (Surya, Ewik & Kadek) who cooked all our meals as required, using local ingredients. They were all super friendly, understood our requests and cooked some great local dishes. Not to mention they also quietly kept the villa looking immaculate. There is also Kormang the gardener who daily maintains the pool and spacious garden area. This villa stay would certainly rank up there as the best we have had in Bali, across decades of travel there. We loved it so much this time that on the last day, we rebooked Villa Yudhistira for two weeks in October 2024. This is more than a villa stay - it can be described as a villa stay with local "family", genuinely ensuring that the guests have the optimal Bali experience.

With the amazing properties throughout Bali, you are not short of options for your holiday. Yet, we returned to this specific Villa because of everything it offers. There are just not enough superlatives to suitably describe Samuh Hill. From our warm welcome at the airport to our heartfelt departure, the service was consistently exemplary, surpassing all expectations. There was nothing that the team wouldn't do for you - and always with the biggest of smiles. My wife and I spent 5 days here with no intention of leaving the villa. And we nearly achieved this, only leaving for 20 mins to visit the local shop - because we ran out of ice creams ... We took full advantage of Madam Wayan's Restaurant and ordered in every night. Our dinner arrived 30-40 mins after sending the whatsapp message and was beautifully presented on the outside table for us to enjoy with the priceless artwork surrounding us [the view]. I have not found a better view in Bali. To wake up to, to view from the lounge, the pool, the sun bed, to go to sleep with. Everywhere you are enveloped by this priceless backdrop. Only bettered by the powerful Mt Agung staring back at you. If I have to give one one negative about this place ... it's that it has spoilt me for my next visit. It's like what I imagine flying first class would be like. Once you've done it, it would be extremely hard to go back to the back of the plane. I truly hope that we get to experience Samuh Hill for a third time.

I'm a fussy traveller and I could not fault our stay at the villa. It was so beautiful and tranquil and as everyone says the photos don't do it justice. Putu, Made, Kadek and the rest of the team were so helpful, but also knew when to step back, which is a rare skill. An added bonus is the team can offer local tours that are informative and great value. Exceptional!

Stayed for 8 nights in late Feb - 4 adults and 2 children. Had a wonderful time is this big Villa that has lots of garden space for children to run and play. Nice relaxing spots for adults to unwind and the most spectacular view of the ocean from the big pool and lovely rice field view from out the front of the Villa. Staff are friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Wayan is as others have stated a very good cook and we all enjoyed our meals, the children especially enjoyed the spring rolls, chicken dishes and fried rice. This Villa is such excellent value Lovina is a short drive away and many restaurants offer a pick up and drop back service if you want to venture out, Krishna watersports is within walking distance although they also offer free transport and also have 2 restaurants. Fantanstic land is nearby and fun for kids. Pepito Supermarket in Lovina is well stocked with anything you need and Tip Top is good for wine and money exchange. The local shop a few minutes walk up the road sells beer and soft drinks. The staff at the Villa will help you arrange anything you need. Its Bali.... nothing is too hard or too much trouble. We will certainly return.
