Our stay at Mermaid Cottage was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning location—just a short stroll from the crystal-clear waters and powdery white sand of Hyams Beach.The cottage itself is beautifully designed, blending coastal charm with modern comforts. It was spotless, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing family getaway. The open-plan living area and outdoor deck provided the perfect setting to unwind, whether it was enjoying a morning coffee with ocean breezes or a family BBQ under the stars.What truly made our stay special was the thoughtful attention to detail—from the fully equipped kitchen to the cozy bedrooms that made us feel right at home. The kids had a blast exploring the nearby beaches and trails, while we appreciated the peace and tranquility of this idyllic retreat.If you’re looking for a dreamy escape in Jervis Bay, Mermaid Cottage is an absolute must! The property was advertised as being surrounded by bush and very close to the magnificent Hyams beach . While the latter was true ) and it is a spectacularly beautiful beach!) the bush surrounds were a wasteland after recent fire clearing . Blackened scrub was dumped outside the house and our view was of an unsightly wasteland . .it just felt like misrepresentation on the website. However the house itself was well stocked and clean. We loved the simple and tasteful design of the house and the fabulous bookshelves! ( we have so many of the same books on our own shelves at home!) Apart from our one gripe, overall we loved the stay and think the owners are very lucky to have this little bit of paradise . Thank you for sharing it !

Lovely location high in the trees above the beach. Ideal for family stay, everything necessary supplied, happy with this holiday house.

Lovely quiet location at southern end of Hyams village, access to beach close via bush track. House has all you need including a wood fire for the cooler nights. We had a relaxing time enjoying the beach and beaches in the National Park.

Such a beautiful property and 2mins walk from a stunning beach. We will definitely go back and stay here again-perfect accommodation.

We rented the house for a few days to concentrate on a work project, the place was perfect for that: indoor and oudoor (veranda) tables to work on, great wifi, and open view to help with creative thinking. The house is a cosy cottage, nothing fancy or show off but perfect for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is possibly the most dated part but very clean and well setup, we were able to cook easily. Very comfy beds, excellent bathroom and shower. But most importantly, the owners were exceptional in their communication and kindness. We loved it and hope to book again soon.
