We had a lovely time staying at the Old Byre, the location is fab lots of walks. The cleanliness let the cottage down as there was some clothes down behind one of the double beds and dust all across the skirting board. We had to wash some of the crockery and utensils before using as food was left on them. There was also an awful smell for two days in the utility room.

Excellent cottage, clean and well equipped.
Excellent cottage, clean and well equipped. Only downside is the one shower, the other is hand held shower over the bath, and the emersion heater is not big enough for 6 people to have a shower at the same time.

The Old Byre is a lovely big converted barn, walking distance to the beach and the Worms Head Hotel and pub. Unfortunately there isn't a shop within walking distance but there is a small shop 5 mins drive away that is quite well stocked.
The cottage was nice and big and the kitchen was well equipped but the double bed upstairs was uncomfortable and the house could do with a good deep clean. The underfloor heating warmed up the downstairs and the wood burner made the lounge very cosy but the upstairs did get a bit cold at night. A small point - could do with blinds on the landing windows to stop the sun waking the kids up in the morning! Great walks to fall bay and worms head from the cottage.

Great holiday in Rhossili and surrounds.
Great holiday in Rhossili and surrounds. Good location for walkers as you need to be pretty fit and healthy to make the most of the beautiful bays and worms head. Cottage good location for us. Frustrating that tv kept losing signal and that water wasn’t warm enough despite boiler noise throughout nights. Upstairs double bed uncomfortable. Large bedroom downstairs very comfortable and well decorated. Owners should address shower door and ask cleaners to pay more attention to hob and surrounds. Welcoming owners who kept their distance despite living next door. Would recommend.

we had to leave early due to illness.
we had to leave early due to illness. If we had been able to stay it was very annoying when we walked to The Worms Head Hotel for our evening meal in the wind and rain only to find It was closed. So it was back to the byre for cheese and biscuits.Next morning was
dry and bright so we walked along the cliff to Worms Head. It is a lovely walk and a beautiful part of the world. It is at its best insummer. The Byre is a very spacious but a cosy cottage but I feel the cleanliness of the kitchen was very poor. The cooker hob wasnt clean the knobs were greasy and dirty and one was hard to regulate as the 1-6 plate turned with the knob. The doors were covered in greasy finger marks and the microwave had not been cleaned on the outside or cleaned underneath for ages. Cobwebs everywhere on the standard lamp on the curtains on the walls. The en suite
downstairs was lovely and clean but the shower door didnt fit into the sliding door gear and was very rusty. Photo attchd.
A few little things that wudnt cost much to improve the look are a new lamp shade(torn) a new throw faded and washed out. Furniture worn and old. As was the garden furniture and the enclosed garden leaves a lot to be desired. I am being honest and altho this sounds bad I wud still recommend The Old Byre. Just needs a few small changes a good clean and it would be perfect.

Ideally situated close to Rhossily bay, superb for walkers. Cottage was comfortable and well presented. Easy access to numerous places of interest although a fair amount of driving was needed. Plenty of good places to eat throughout the area, but transport essential for most. Only downside was that there was a bad drain smell in the downstairs en suite, this permeated throughout the cottage, especially the upstairs bedroom. Also we were unable to watch TV on several evenings as the signal was lost, probably an aerial problem. Both these negatives could be easily rectified by the owner. Overall an excellent place to stay.

We had a very comfortable stay at The Old Byre; it was suitable for the three generations in our party (grandparents enjoyed the very large ground floor en suite bedroom). There was a large family bathroom upstairs which would have been perfect if it had a separate shower or at least the shower attachment fixed to the wall. The gravel garden was relaxing to sit out in and despite being close to the road felt safe and quiet enough to enjoy.
Local amenities are sparse, but that is manageable. We had a week's shop delivered at the start of the holiday, and the shop in Scurlage (5 mins drive away) filled in any gaps.
We found exiting the property onto the road by car needs someone to guide the driver out but that is no big deal - just handy to know.
We had a great week at The Old Byre.

Rhosili is an unlikely holiday destination in February but this cottage was perfect for it.
Rhosili is an unlikely holiday destination in February but this cottage was perfect for it. Wood fire and underfloor heating made it cosy and the sofas and beds were particularly comfortable. Location is good and there are excellent walks straight from the front door but shops and other services are generally only accessible by car or by the good bus service. There is lots good about this cottage and it would be churlish to suggest otherwise but it would have been even better if some minor maintenance issues had been resolved before we arrived
