Maison Marcks | Ay Champagne | Class & Comfort | Private courtyard

Situated on a cute laneway in the heart of the old part of Aÿ-Champagne, Maison Marcks is very quiet, yet at a 5 minutes walk from several well-known Champagne makers (none mentioned, none forgotten), shops and restaurants. On the picturesque town square you will be able to have lunch, a coffee or sip on a glass of Champagne in the sun on one of the terraces of the cafés and bakeries.
Maison Marcks Champagne is a comfortable and exclusive home to stay in while exploring Champagne and its many legendary vineyards. It is not known which year the houe was built, but the antique oak beams throughout the building date from at least the 17th century.
Tall ceilings offer a spacious and airy, yet very cozy, living space across 3 floors with 2 double bedrooms, open plan kitchen / dining / living room, 2 tiled bathrooms with WC & shower and 1 separate WC - a home that easily accommodates 4 adults. From the living room you have access to the inner courtyard - to which you have exclusive use - through a large glass sliding door.

So - the house:
GROUND FLOOR
Large hallway with adjacent WC, living room with sofa group and TV, fully equipped kitchen and dining area all in an open plan setting, with a big window / sliding door facing the private courtyard.
FIRST FLOOR
Double bed room with a super comfortable bed (180 x 200 cm). This floor also has a landing to access the top floor and tiled WC / bathroom.
SECOND / TOP FLOOR
Sleeping suite with double bed (180 x 200 cm) with plenty of pillows, an ensuite bathroom, a coffee / tea station, desk and seating area all under the beamed, tall ceilings. Rooftop windows provide gorgeous light (but can be darkened, if required).
OUTDOORS
Private courtyard with lounge area by the open fire place as well as a dining area - both under roof for shelter from both sun and rain. This is a quiet and wonderfully lush space where you can enjoy your exquisite any-hour-of-the-day-glass-of-champagne.

If you want to go exploring Epernay and its famous Avenue de Champagne, you are only a 15 mins bike or bus ride away or 5 mins by car. From the train station of Aÿ (which is less than 10 mins walk through town) you can easily access both Epernay (4 mins train ride) and Reims (23 mins train ride).
You can reach Aÿ from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport via train (TGV to Champagne-Ardennes in 29 mins and then train via Reims to Aÿ - total travel time is just under 1½ hours).

PARKING
There is a parking lot across the street with 8 parking spots (there are always spots available there) or else, parking is free in the whole town of Aÿ, so outside parking close to the house is always available.
