My wife and I stayed here for a week with our 4 children ages 16,14, 12 and 8. We could not have asked for a better place to stay to experience real Bali. Even better than the villa is the staff. Yande and his staff catered to our every need. From helping us with our daily plans and personally booking our car and driver to making us delicious meals every day. We had never stayed somewhere there was staff and were nervous about it but it was perfect, they were there only when we needed them. One of my kids favorite things was there is a short walk down to a waterfall and small cliff jumping that the staff would bring us down to, the kids didn’t want to leave.

it is hard to describe both the peaceful tranquility and the grace of the staff at Villa Sagitta. we had a wonderful and relaxing time with a beautiful hike to a “secret” waterfall near the property. the staff took every measure to make sure things were attended to. I have been coming to Bali for decades and in fact have never experienced a villa that even lets each individual guest select their breakfast. we will be back!

Amazing river gorge villa

Stunning property with great views over the river gorge. Kinda feels like you are camping in the jungle, but will all of the comforts of a top notch villa. Nothing was too much trouble for Yande and team, and the food was superb. Highly recommended.

After flying for United airlines for 33 years. I discovered the most peaceful place on earth and that is Villa Sagitta. The house manager Yande greeted us with warmth and made us feel at home. I would give this a 10 star rating if that were possible. Looking forward to returning !

Fantastic Family Vacation

We had a family group of 10 people and loved the time we spent here. The surrounding view and the home were beautiful. The on-site staff were always available and friendly. We had several adults and everyone had their own space. Yande, the house manager, was very personal and helpful. He helped arrange transportation to the places we were going and offered helpful advice. So easy to have food prepared and it was delicious. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

Incredible property with brilliant staff in a beautiful setting . About 20 -30 minutes drive to the busy ubud centre. Villa Sagitta is set at the edge of a small village overlooking a valley of jungle. Yande and the staff went out of the way to make us all comfortable . Wish we’d had longer to immerse ourselves further into the tranquility….

The perfect getaway

Villa Sagitta was the perfect destination for our girl getaway. Not only does it enjoy a magnificent setting overlooking over the jungle and a river gorge, the home is beautiful, with every room packed with character and style and a horizon pool that makes the most of the location. The manager Yande is amazing - he anticipated our every need and organised so much for us, from our dinners by the pool each night to yoga sessions in the villa’s pavilion, evening massages and a driver for our day trips. Yande also took the time to take us for a wonderful walk through his village and the nearby rice fields Our stay was magical - we would definitely return.

Spectacular Property and Respite

This house is special and we wish we'd booked a longer stay to enjoy it more. We had 5 teens/young adults with us and they were able to spread out and enjoy the property -- all of the bedrooms were spacious, well appointed and my husband and I would have been happy to stay in any of them! Yande was a tremendous help and took wonderful care of us even organizing a yoga instructor for family yoga on the deck one morning. This house and experience exceeded my expectations in every way and we were discussing when to return on the plane ride home!

Everyone was fantastic. So helpful, so accommodating and just such good communication. Yande was THE BEST. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING we needed he helped us with. Food was delicious and we were a big bunch of 12. Food and drinks anytime, cars, advice on where to do, contacts, everything was provided if we needed it. Thank you so much for a great stay. The owners were always readily available to answer questions as well pretrip. Thank you SO much! The villa is beautiful and so well taken care of.

Relaxing Natural Location near Ubud

The location is so magical, you can’t even see another villa from this property. It is set on a beautiful serene river gorge. There is a temple in the distance and a yoga chalet and the pool is so refreshing and a perfect place to take in the view. We were a group of 9 total from two family’s and we had plenty of room. The best part was the staff, especially Yande. He was always available to serve our every whim he made us meals, arranged tours and transport, book massages, and had great suggestions, even before we arrived he was helping with arrangements. Yande is now part of our family and we can’t wait to stay with him again. Thank you for sharing this magical place with the world.

Unforgettable forest view

My husband and adult daughter and I spent three days here. It is a beautiful villa, and the pictures are accurate. The menu is more than adequate, and the staff was kind enough to stay late to prepare our dinner upon our arrival, which was much appreciated. The infinity pool is a real plus; looking over the edge of the pool into the forest across the gorge is a memory I will not soon forget. We were there during the full moon Ceremony celebrations, which included an hour and a half of drum beatings and other celebratory music, which was loud enough to make conversation difficult on the balcony. Not a huge problem, but perhaps worth checking your travel schedule. Very helpful and attentive driver, Ketut. Our thanks to him. (very reasonable rates). We enjoyed shopping in the Ubud market (remember to bargain, and don't miss the beautiful Balinese glass mosaic tile dishes; they are beautiful!). My daughter and I enjoyed a spa day at the Oops spa. The foot massage is worth having! We would definitely recommend this villa. .

Nice place but…

The villa is beautiful with a beautiful view of the forest. The property manager is very nice, friendly, and helpful. We were provided with nice breakfast and daily serve of tropical fruits. Unfortunately, the biggest problem we had and made the stay unpleasant was because of our big party (9 adults and 3 kids), the car we came with was too big for the road going into the villa, so we had to walk short distance to the villa (this was not mentioned in the ad) and pass through few neighbour houses with wild dogs that kept barking very loudly at us within very close proximity. Some approached us way too close, looking like they’re ready to attack. With 3 kids in tow, this was a very scary and unpleasant experience coming in and leaving the villa. On top of this, because the bathroom is outdoor, we found a big, long black snake in the bathroom. We called the manager straightaway and they took care of it but from that on, i slept with one eye open. Air cond was not too cold and despite being in ubud and surrounded by beautiful forest, it’s not too cold in the bedroom at night. Since we couldnt open windows/door either worrying unwanted animals may come uninvited like the snake, it was really hot in the bedroom and many of us could not sleep very well. Although the view from the villa is beautiful, host is friendly, and we were looked after very well by the property manager, unfortunately we couldn’t really enjoy the whole experience and had to give a 3 star review.

Perfect stay

Very easy to book and communicate with owners. Our stay was fantastic. Location is about 20 min from Ubud. The manager Yandi was fabulous to work with and took care of us like family arranging a driver, special meals, massage and yoga on site, etc. highly recommended!

Beautiful villa - kind staff

We loved our stay in the villa, that lies beautifully in the rain forrest and is bigger than it seems on the pictures. Staff is very kind and effective, when arranging eg. transport and massage. Breakfeast and the cook's food is delicious.

Peaceful, beautiful, unique - Jungle Paradise!

We were blown away by the unique views of the jungle, the beautifully kept gardens and tasteful interior design of Villa Sagitta. Our 4 night stay was just perfect for a family holiday. Sana and the other staff were incredibly friendly and genuine people, and they made us feel relaxed and safe the entire time. They assisted promptly with drivers, tours and special food requests - all with a giant smile and kindness. The villa is incredibly well maintained and the pictures seen on the website really do not truly represent how incredible the place is - it is utterly peaceful and even the roosters blend in with the tranquility. Everything seems to slow down and you can appreciate the amazing views of the jungle from the pool, and we even requested a private massuer for one of the days to come to the villa. We wish we stayed longer - we will not forget this paradise. Thanks to all who helped us have an amazing stay. Oscar, Kat & Family

We've always loved Bali and we’ve always been keen travellers so schedules permitting, we try and spend as much time at our properties as we can with our our family. But, because - tragically - life can't be one long holiday, we rent our properties out to guests as well! We endeavour to make our guests’ stay as memorable as possible - which our reviews attest to.

Why they chose this property

The villa is beautifully situated at the top of a river gorge. There is a special light that settles over the gorge in the mornings and evenings, and my absolute best is to curl up in the upstairs bale, or on the day bed outside, with my book and a cup of coffee, and just imbibe the views, and sounds, of Bali.

Ubud really is the cultural heartland of Bali and we love the arty, laid back feeling of the whole area. We particularly loved this property (and we looked at many!) because it provides such a sense of serenity, peace and tranquility.

The drive to Ubud – through the most gorgeous rice fields – is really beautiful. We enjoy that we are close enough to the ‘action’ to easily partake in Ubud life and the attractions in the area. Yet, equally, we often just lounge around the villa for days on end doing nothing but swim, sleep, read and eat! Heaven!

What makes this property unique

We have tried to make Villa Sagitta as appealing for our guests as it is for us. This is not your typical impersonal rental home – we love to collect art and different pieces, and we like to live comfortably! We hope the villa reflects this for you as well. Our 200 year-old Joglo suite, and our two traditional 'gladak' wooden houses, are relatively unique - even by Balinese standards. We had a really good time finding beautiful antiques and contemporary pieces to furnish them with - we hope you love them too.
