About this property

The Lyons Den at Upper Timberline Village

The Lyons Den welcomes you to enjoy a quiet getaway surrounded by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, just minutes from the White Pass Ski Resort and Mt Rainier. Our cabin features both electric heat and a classic wood stove to stay cozy, a lending library, games, WiFi, flat screen TV, brand new hot tub (July 2020), grill, tire swing, restaurants, shopping and snow sports just up the road. With a perfect blend of modern convenience and rustic charm. Walk into the cabin to enjoy a welcome basket full of coffee, cocoa, and a few other complimentary treats. We are located in the Upper Timberline Village. It is well maintained and the roads are always plowed in the winter so you never have any issues getting to the cabin. Quiet ski cabin
The cabin was clean, the hot tub was hot, and the drive to white pass was 30 minutes (hard to get closer without getting a condo across from the resort). Advice to the owner (and anyone wanting to stay there with small children): the stair railing needs more balusters. They were very far apart (an adult could fit between them). Overall it was a great little place. Easy to get in and out and had the essential amenities needed.

Amazing stay!
The house was very clean and has beautiful accommodations. We stayed as a family with young children and had a great time. There was a wide range of books and toys/games for the kids and we had a beautiful time in the backyard with the hot tub and the fire pit.

Family trip
This was a very comfortable and well-appointed place to stay. The property manager was very good to work with. We would recommend this to travelers in the Rainier area.

I grew up camping in Packwood and have family here. I have always loved the area and enjoy watching its evolution. I love snowboarding at White Pass with my daughters and hiking Rainier in the summer! I am from Tacoma and currently live there.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is in the closet neighborhood to White Pass with only a short 17 minute drive to the ski hill. The south entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park is only about 6 miles from my cabin with plenty of hiking and sightseeing available. I love getting away to my cabin it makes an excellent base camp for year round outdoor activities! I enjoy the quiet nights around the campfire with our girls and long days on the mountain! Coming home to relax in the fabulous hot tub after a long day of hiking or boarding is a special treat.

(House has driveway security camera.)

What makes this property unique

After a cold day on the hill, its hard to beat a hot tub for sore muscles and aching feet that have been stuffed in ski boots all day!
