Great ski getaway

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The views are spectacular and the hot tub was clean. The wood stove was so cozy! The king bed was a bit firm for me though, but we had a very relaxing time!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! We just got new beds for the King and Queen, with different firmness, hoping to match the needs of our guests. The king is firm and the queen is medium.

Well equipped cabin with great view from decking.

This well-equipped and spacious log cabin proved an ideal base for us to explore the Mt Rainier national park from. The view of the mountain from the deck is great - as is the hot tub - and the nearby supermarket had everything we needed for catering etc. We would definitely recommend this cabin and the Packwood area to our friends.

Great place to stay. Clean relaxing and close to town and Gifford Pinchot National Forrest. WIFI was great plenty of of games available and DVDs and ROKU TV. Appliances were new and all worked well. Enjoyed our stay. I think access to washer and dryer would be convenient especially since we were traveling from the the east coast for ten days, but not a deal breaker.

Great little place

We stayed here for a few nights after flying in from Thailand, and it was the perfect place to recover from jet lag. The house is cozy and well-stocked, with games and movies and great access to the park and other hikes in the area. The weather was lovely (but still cold in mid-June). We would have appreciated access to a washer and dryer but other than that we were very happy here. And, of course, the hot tub was a big plus.

Packwood July 2023

The cabin was great and had everything we needed for our stay. Be aware that due to road repairs the Stevens Canyon NPS entrance is only open on the weekends in 2023. It was a quick way to Mt. Rainier NP. Hot tub was great after a day of hiking.

Great weekend getaway

Had great time and loved the cabin....was very nice relaxing weekend in the snow ! The hot tub & wood stove were a big plus on our winter wonderland adventure 🤪 if you plan on using bbq and cooking while here then make sure you bring bbq brush to clean it & lighter to light it ....the only lighter to light the fire was melted 🙈 so luckily we had fire starter for the first night and picked up lighter next day at store nearby....would definitely come stay again! Thanks

Cabin exceeded our expectations

Came to the cabin with our daughter from San Diego and her 2 sons. We all thought the cabin was perfect. Views of Mt Rainier every day. Enjoyed the hot tub every night. There were plenty of towels. We saw a big elk wal by and linger. Lots of games, movies, nice tv. We had a talent show the last night!

Quiet Get Away with Awesome Deck Views

Nice property, secluded, yet easy to access. Enjoyed all the facilities it had to offer. The only bath being on main level (bedrooms on 2nd floor) was a bit of an inconvenience. We made it work. A bit on the pricey side but the view of Mt Rainer from the livingroom and big deck compensated for the cost. We'd stay here again. PS....They were a bit slow returning our "security deposit".

Response from VrboOwner on 25 Mar 2020
Thanks for the positive review John! VRBO holds the security deposit for 1 week after the final day of your rental. If requested, we can approve a faster reimbursement. I'll look into making the standard deposit return to 2-3 days after check out for future rentals. Thanks for the feedback!

Watch out! Hot tub is not clean!

Because the hot tub chemicals at the cabin are unbalanced/completely messed up, my twin boys have hot tub folliculitis. They have a horrible itchy rash all over their bodies and face. I had to take them to the pediatrician to get a diagnosis. This is not acceptable and we won't stay there again.
Stayed 2 nights in Mar 2017
Response from VrboOwner on 25 Mar 2020
We truly apologize and feel terrible for this unfortunate situation. The week prior to your stay the hot tub was drained, cleaned and the chemicals were re-balanced. This is a practice that occurs on a regular basis and is contracted out. We have never had prior issues and we'll do everything we can to prevent this in the future. I've contacted our hottub cleaning crew to review their practices and methods and see if anything can be improved upon. Certainly, this does not remedy your families negative experience. I hope the rest of your stay went well and let us know if we can help make this right. Addition: We've contacted our hottub cleaning crew and this is the first case of any bacterial issue they have encountered in several years of experience. They are a top notch crew and we stand by their work. We do provide additional "shock" tablets at the cabin for each renter in the event they'd like an extra dose of chemicals to offer more piece of mind. We'd also like to remind everyone to rinse in the shower prior to, and after, using the hottub.

Great Time Away

Was a very much needed time away from city, being able to celebrate a birthday and holiday in the same week. Great view of the mountains, easy access and private area for the hotub. With a fire going, we had a great week of relaxing. The grocery store is less than 5 minutes away, which made for easy in and out when needed.

Nice rental home near Mount Ranier NP

Our family of 6 adults fit comfortably. The decor is “Nordic cabin” and rustic. The house is clean. Beds were very comfortable and there were true beds for 6. We stayed in the summer and it was a great base for exploring Mount Ranier NP. There was a TV, board games and toys for little kids. The huge deck had a nice grill and an incredible view of Mount Ranier. There was no AC, but there were plentiful fans - if it gets hot that might be a problem for some but it cools off quickly in the mountains, and we weren’t uncomfortable. Structurally, the floor was significantly tilted. There was a very steep uneven gravel driveway that was a was a little sketchy with a loaded minivan. An SUV might climb it better. The power went out one night, and we had to manage our refrigerated food due to that. If you look at the power company website page that apparently occurs frequently in Packwood. It was a nice house but a little of an adventure, which was in keeping with our vacation.

Perfect mountain cabin!

We stayed Memorial Day weekend and had a fantastic time. The hot tub was great and we took advantage of the wood burning fire place. Check-in and check-out were super easy. The only weird thing is that the bathroom is downstairs by the entry and pretty far away from the upstairs bedrooms. Otherwise, it was absolutely perfect. We had everything we needed there and everything was so clean. We will absolutely consider coming back to this rental.

I had the pleasure of speaking with the property manager. I had left my bag there and they were willing to return to me free of charge. Very accommodating. And then the location was very beautiful and great view of mount rainier when the skies cleared up. It was comfortable. Nice deck, hot tub was very nice. Would come again!

Sept. Mt.Rainier Trip

Cabin was great. View of mountain great! Location great. Only issues were hot tub didn’t work the last 2 of 4 nights we stayed there: we called for assistance with it and left two messages but nobody returned our call. We really wanted the hot tub:( Also gave us only 2 rolls of teepee for 6 adults for 5 days. So the owners may want to think about the management company some.

Greta basecamp location for Mount Rainier

This home was great for the two of us. It got warm at night, but the fan helped out tremendously. Suggest some chaise lounges for the deck. It is such a beautiful place to relax - just would like to lounge a bit more on the deck and not just sit up at the table!
