We had a family wedding at the San Diego Yacht Club, and this home was the perfect place to stay. Located in a beautiful neighborhood, it had everything we needed to make our visit comfortable and enjoyable. The home was also exceptionally clean and well-maintained—we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
This spot was perfect for our quick trip to San Diego. Easy walking to great food/drink spots near the harbor. The views and amenities were spectacular, and the host was extremely accomodating during our stay!
Location, and luxury yet still family friendly. The views are spectacular and the house is stocked with everything you need. You can easily walk to restaurants and enjoy Point Loma from this property!
Great spot for a family of 6. House was clean. Close to anything you could need. The views were amazing, especially during the 4th of July fireworks show. Would definitely stay there again.
We really enjoyed the amazing views from this house and the central convenient location. We did a lot of different things without too much driving. We also had some nice walks from the house. The pictures and description matched our expectations. Hosts were friendly, generous, and communicated well. Would absolutely stay again.
Location, property, and amenities are great. The only problem was the extremely weak A/C downstairs in the living room and kitchen that had us all hanging out in the bedrooms during the summer days.

The A/C had a broken capacitor and has been fixed. It is nice and cold again!
Took the kid to his freshman orientation and stayed in the heart of San Diego in this lovely home. Very accommodating, comfortable and middle of everything, great views day and night, beach play, activities, ocean love, great food all around and 15 mins to the college. Go Aztecs! Would love to stay here again and again.
This house was perfect for my family of five. The views of the sun in the morning were absolutely breathtaking. This home has multiple outdoor living spaces—complete with a fire pit and jacuzzi so everyone in the family had enough privacy. Laura was such a gracious host and her home was well appointed with everything that we needed to make a full Thanksgiving dinner. Our family enjoyed our stay and will definitely return to SD and this home.

Perfect crash pad for two guys sailing at SDYC, spouse dropped in for two nights. Good kitchen and laundry, and easy walk to SDYC. Driveway is on steep hill, so not for the faint hearted driver! AC worked great once you set thermostat to your needs.

Great view from multiple rooms and balcony. Modern, clean home. Would stay here again.
Great location for a family vacation to San Diego. Seemed like it was 10 minutes to every activity we did over 4 days. The Cabrillo Momument is just a few miles away and don't miss out on the view of the city. From the Zoo to Balboa Park to the Midway and a harbor tour it was great. The house has a great balcony with an outdoor firepit we used during the cool evenings. Good grill outside. Comfortable beds. Great master shower. If we are in San Diego again this will be at the top of the list.

My family and I enjoyed staying in this home for our SD
vacation. The location was great, and we loved the views,
especially at night. A couple of cons..... there were ants in a few areas of the house, including the kitchen and bedrooms. The one thing that would prevent me from staying here again is the bedding. It was terrible in the primary with cheap, scratchy sheets. All the other beds were just as bad with very heavy comforters that probably had not been washed recently. Simple fixes for the owner. Get some nice bedding and have the exterminator spray regularly and this property would be so much better!
I found 6 things to love in this house- 1. The Rear (lower) Patio with comfortable seating, a gas fire feature, BBQ & it's almost walled in with bushes & trees creating a private space. 2. The Front Patio is like a porch in that it's open to the front street & also views of SD & the harbor. 3. The Kitchen has very attractive cabinets & the sink window looks out on a counter-level planter creating a fun experience. 4. The Rear (upper) Patio has a shade cover & spa & even though it's outside, it's quite private. 5. The Master Bath has a two person shower & one side also has body jets that emerge from the wall. 6. The extension of the Foyer from the front door to the rear glass doors has a lowered ceiling just the right height that architects seem to get perfectly right. All in all we had a delightful stay, made even better by the fine host.
This property is in a great location if you want to take advantage of all the things (Zoo, Seaworld, Coronado, Sunset Cliffs, Cabrillo, etc.) Great views of the San Diego skyline from the front deck and family room.
Overall, the house is great, but would recommend a few things to make it more comfortable such as more washcloths, more clothes hangers, sink hole covers for the master bath, and more throws for the family room.
Finally, as some other guests have mentioned, we did have a problem with ants in the guest bedrooms and upstairs hall bathroom. We found a big bottle of ant spray and took care of them ourselves (the host did offer to send someone in to spray) but we battled them off and on during the stay. There are large shrubs right up against the house and the ants are using it as a highway to the house.
On a positive note, we enjoyed the hot tub, the kitchen is very well-equipped, and overall the house is comfortable and the host was responsive. All of the minor inconveniences were overshadowed by the great location of the house - and the spectacular views.

All ant issues have been handled with pest control.
This house was really great! Beautiful views, stunning interior and comfy beds. Appreciated the air conditioning during the California heatwave. Thanks so much to our hosts!
Our family of 5 had a great time in this conveniently located home to many great sites in San Diego! Beautiful city views and great natural light throughout the home. Laura was a great host and very responsive. We would highly recommend!
Outstanding location, safe and easy walking distance to Shelter Island. We were 15-20 minutes from Coronado, Balboa Park, the Midway and Cabrillo National Monument. The airport is even closer. Excellent views of the harbor, North Island and downtown San Diego. We very much enjoyed the hot tub. The house is spacious and comfortable. I would have given the property a five star rating, but there was an infestation of ants in the kitchen and bathrooms. The owner sent an exterminator the next day once notified, but ants were still present the morning we left. Also, the icemaker didn't work nor was attended to during our stay. I would choose this property again.
Had fun for my birthday. Great hosts and hope to rebook sometime soon!

I love fixing up old houses, and decorating. I love reading, hanging with my kids, family and friends, my dogs, being outdoors, exercising, and traveling. When I travel, I like updated accommodations, walkability to great coffee houses, restaurants, shops, and walking trails to the harbor for water sports, full harbor and city views to sit and relax by, warm fireplaces, and spa, as well as ample privacy. This is what I have created in the vacation rental home in Point Loma, La Playa neighborhood. It is luxurious. I love it!
Why they chose this property
The view, unique design, and location are the reasons we chose this property. It's an exceptional residence designed by Dale Naegle, one of San Diego's premier architects of the mid-century movement. The epitome of refined modernist architecture with it's vertical and horizontal design elements, incorporating an inspired wall of glass, which expands the living area and takes full advantage of the panoramic views. Meticulous attention to detail artisanship along with dramatic elements provides complete sensory textural experience. Located in prestigious La Playa area of Point Loma.
