The School House is a modern apartment set within a grade II listed development. It offers a large light, bright open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, large seating area and, tucked away, a wonderful free standing roll top bath. The double bedroom is a mezzanine floor accessed via a spiral staircase, a unique feature of apartments in York. There is a also a separate bathroom with a walk in shower, which has been finished to a very high standard.

The living space is a fantastic escape from the City of York, where you can kick back and relax in the comfort of your own hideaway. The huge sofa offers acres of space to snuggle down into whilst enjoying a glass of something cold or watching your favourite movie on the smart TV. The fitted kitchen has everything that you will need to prepare a holiday breakfast or treat. The breakfast bar provides ample space for dining and there is the added luxury of a coffee machine. There is a complimentary gift pack which includes fresh ground coffee so there is no need to miss your morning brew!

Situated in the heart of Walmgate you have everything on your doorstep, from a large number of independent bars and restaurants to boutique shops and galleries, which all line the street. The Shambles and the city centre are also only a matter of 5 minutes walk away, the very best of locations. We had a great weekend away in York and the apartment was perfectly situated. A modern, quirky, well equipped apartment and we really enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed the space and the extra touches of the record player etc. The property needs a little attention in the general maintenance, stairs rickety, washing machine no button to start, foot bar not secured to bar stools, filled sink over the overflow and leaked out under the sink unit. Also the rugs on the wooden floor are lethal when walking around. Could benefit from a better equipped kitchen Enjoyed the space very much, large, bright. Easy check-in/check-out. Great location.

Great place! Great location! Was missing the details that one would expect with the price!

The apartment was great overall and in have a fantastic time location. The overall cleanliness really could have been better, but with a pair of old socks found under the sofa, the along with a mountain of dust. Also with the windows not opening and no air conditioning or fans, the the apartment was stuffy and overly hot. The bed was also very basic and quite uncomfortable, with it even more stuffy when trying to sleep. Some air conditioning, and a comfy mattress and professional cleaning and then it would be worth it's value.

Over all the apartment was ina perfect location and had almost everything we needed , but the issue we had was with stays York them selves they were really bad about keeping in touch , the only other issue we had was the windows didn't open at all so the place got extremely hot and we had no way of cooling down .

Wonderful

Brilliant place to stay, lovelyfresh place and immaculate throughout including a lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The host made sure we were fully up to speed on everything from entry codes and the options on local places to see and eat. Definaatly the only place for us to stay if we are ever back in york. Big thanks to all from us both.

Lovely place but for the price we paid we would have expected more as there 1 towel each for 2 nights stay which is nowhere near enough, to change temperature on shower isn’t working so we had to have hotter showers than we would ever want, carpet had staines marks on floor where the bath is plus there was rose petals underneath the bed so it wasn’t deep cleaned as we was told this in welcome pack, the bed was abit smaller than expected and mattress needs replacing urgently due to having two uncomfortable and sleepless nights due to feeling all the springs.

Lovely apartment in a great location!

Such a lovely apartment with a great social open plan living room and kitchen, and such a great location being only minutes away from the town and the Shambles. The only criticism I could find was that the bed was too firm but that's just personal taste!
