The apartment is one of a very few apartments on the resort that has a combination of a private balcony, (most have a shared balcony), located on the 1st floor (more privacy), 2 bathrooms and is located in a nice quiet position on the resort.

There is a 42' HD flat screen TV with satellite in the lounge and a 32' HD flat screen TV that is wall mounted in main bedroom. Air-con is included.

The Viveiro Golf & Country Club is the first sustainable green golf course in Cape Verde, with a Golf Club that is only 500 metres away from the MELIÃ Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa . It is a 9-hole course, Par 35, with a length of approximately 2,800m. This golf course is an oasis in the desert. It is surrounded by palm trees and with a 300º view to the Atlantic Ocean. It is the first golf course with real grass in Cape Verde.

There is a bank and supermarket 200 metres away from the resort and many more banks, supermarkets, mini markets and local markets in Santa Maria.

Santa Maria, which is less than 10 minutes from the resort by taxi, has many fabulous bars and restaurants, day or night there is always somewhere to be entertained, from daytime beach activities to night time live music and many nightclubs.

There are many other places of interest including the Fortaleza del Real Felipe, built in the 16th century, which is a restored Spanish fort overlooking Santiago’s Cidade Velha. Grand Mount Fogo, Cape Verde’s tallest peak, offers intrepid climbers amazing panoramic views from its summit. Unspoilt Brava, smallest of the islands, contains an incredible wealth of diverse wildlife in its expansive forests.

If lounging on balmy tropical beaches is your thing, Sal delivers big time. The most tourist-oriented Cape Verde island, this stunning gem is encircled by dazzling white sands and turquoise waters, creating an idyllic playground for sun and surf fanatics. There's a myriad of ocean-going pursuits to enjoy, from snorkelling and diving amid waters alive with tropical fish, to exhilarating deep-sea fishing, windsurfing and kite-surfing. You must go to Kite beach, if not to participate, it is still a great place for the spectator.

The main hotspot of Santa Maria has friendly cafes, bars, surf shops and restaurants and for more adventure, take a Jeep safari through the surreal desert landscape to wow at the volcanic crater of Pedra da Lume and the astonishing ocean-mirage at Terra Boa. By night, Santa Maria swings into action, with a cavalcade of morna-playing bars, mouth-watering fish restaurants and a cluster of discos to keep you up late.

You really feel safe and relaxed here. The locals are charming, shy and very friendly and they go out of their way to help.

Try the restaurants on nearby Ponta Preta Beach or Angulo Windsurfing and Kitesurfing Centre for lunch.
