Agréable séjour

Maison agréable, spacieuse qui offre une jolie vue. La maison est très bien équipée , on a adoré le barbecue intérieur dans la cuisine. La literie est confortable. Les gros point noirs de la maison sont: son chauffage et la connexion internet! Nous avons eu une seule journée internet! Le wifi clairement ne fonctionne pas. Concernant le chauffage, c’est une catastrophe! Tout disjoncte à chaque fois, donc il faut savoir jongler entre chaque chauffage, il nous a fallu 2 jours pour tout chauffer! Et il faut le dire AUCUNE explication à notre arrivée nous a été donnée puis la maison n’était même pas chauffé! 10 degré intérieur à notre arrivée.

Dear Aurore, Thank you for your review and apologies for your experience with the internet and the heating of the house. The issue with the Wi-Fi is mainly a result of the fixed line connections to the village and urbanisation itself, which is still using old technology (DSL) and is quite slow for modern usage. An upgrade to fibre optic is overdue and seems to have been delayed but is expected within the next year. In the meantime the cellular connections are good, but we understand that is not a good option especially if you have a foreign contract. Regarding the heating, I apologise once again. As explained, there was a misunderstanding which meant the heating was not switched on in advance of your arrival, as was our intention. Also, your stay coincided with an unusually cold spell, as the average temperatures in Port de la Selva during December normally reach 14ºC during the day. I am glad to know, however, that you had a pleasurable stay, and would be very happy to welcome you again in the future.

view is stunning

You will sleep well; quiet, dark, and cool with the a/c or outdoor breezes. Rent the smallest car you can fit into, the streets of Port de la Selva are for small cars. Lovely well appointed home.

Brilliant stay at Giraluna Villa El Port de la Sel

Arrived at villa 5th September 2015 for 10 nights and we all were blown away with the views and the fantastic location of Giraluna, the Villa was perfect and all rooms were very large and our party of 7 found it very spacious , the decor was top class everything you could wish for your stay. Anyone going for a holiday to Giraluna Villa will be very pleased they did. Mr Brian James United Kingdom

Fabulous, Simply Fabulous.

My wife and I along with another couple enjoyed six wonderful days in "Giraluna" We found this beautiful home exactly as described as to location, layout and facilities. It was clean, well maintained and the views... fantastic. We especially enjoyed evening visits to watch the fishing fleet unload the day's catch and the follow-on auction. Dining opportunities abound but whatever you do, do not miss Monterrey!

We enjoyed a fantastic week!

It has been a great experience. The property is fantasic, with breath-taking views and in a calm and peaceful location, though near the village. In fact, Port de la Selva is a great location, very near from many sites that must be visited. Mercedes and Marta made our staying easy and comfortable, like if we were in our own house. The property is basically full-equiped and in perfect conditions, so having a fantastic holidays is just up to you!!!

Lovely stay in Giraluna

Giraluna is a lovely villa overlooking the beautiful bay of El Port de la Selva on one side, and the National Park of Cap de Creus on the other. Giraluna is generously spaced, elegantly furnished and fully equipped. We loved evening meals on the terrace overlooking the sea at sunset. We received full information from the owner when we paid our deposit, and were welcomed very nicely to the villa upon arrival. Highly recommended.

Holiday to enjoy

We spent two wonderful weeks in the house Giraluna.The house itself is beautifully constructed and has a very tasteful garden withsome places to recover. The best is of course the unique location with stunning views of the sea and the countryside. We have enjoyed this every day and especially every evening when teh sun went down. The house was very clean and well equipped. On hot days and nights we were very happy about the air conditioning. The village is not far away. You can go there on foot. There are all necessary shops and good restaurants. Also the beaches are not far away. You can choose between a sandy beach in the village and a stone beach in a small bay. All in all we had a wonderful 2 weeks in "Giraluna". We would come back any time.

Großzügig

Wir waren nur zu Zweit in dem großen Haus und haben die Weitläufigkeit genossen. Besonderen Gefallen fanden wir an dem Schlafzimmer mit Panoramafenster, dem großen Wohnraum mit Kamin und der perfekt eingerichteten Küche. Von überall hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf die Bucht. Mehrere zum Teil windgeschützte Terrassen können auch noch im Herbst genutzt werden. Wir hatten einen Kälteeinbruch und waren erfreut, dass es eine leistungsstarke Heizung gab. Einziger Nachteil: der Zugang zum Haus führt durch die Garage und das Schwingtor ist für ältere Leute doch etwas schwer zu handhaben. Das Haus liegt direkt am Eingang zum Naturpark von Cap de Creus. Man ist sofort schönen Wanderwegen durch eine unberührte Landschaft. In El Port gibt es gute Geschäfte zum Einkaufen und vor allem fangfrischen Fisch. Wir haben fest vor wieder zu kommen.

Wonderful paradise

Extraordinary holiday in El Port de la Selva and more particularly Giraluna! What to say, except that this place is beautiful and magical, this small authentic fishing village, wonderful coves, with a mix cheerfulness and tranquility. We were totally impressed by this house, Giraluna. It is situated high on all sides, one side overlooking the harbor of Port de la Selva and the other side overlooking the Natural Reserve. There, bathed in nature, surrounded by pine trees, fig trees, flowers, we spent 15 awesome days. Its terraces, indoor barbecue, layout, space... As parents we were staying in the room above, a kind of tower where the view, privacy and tranquility were splendid! Another important thing for us was the ease to go to the village (3mn watch in hand) as well as access to beaches (also 3mn), a particular favourite of ours beingTamariua, just behind the house, a haven of peace, beauty and nature. In short, we fell in love with this house and this village, we hope to return next year! Last thing, the proximity of Cadaques (20 minutes) is perfect, a stunning location with excellent restaurants and places to party! We are fans of Giraluna !!
