Absolutely fantastic. Cannot rate Little Gem high enough. Excellent location on Cartway, very close to all amenities (shops/pubs/restaurants) and plenty of good walks to explore. Very clean and welcoming (even a little basket of goodies and essentials in the fridge await your arrival). Perfect for a weekend getaway.

Thank you for your fantastic review we sincerely hope that we have the opportunity of hosting you again in the future.
Perfect from start to finish, 2mins walk from shops and restaurants/pubs. 10min walk to steam railway. Cottage itself had everything needed loved the welcome basket of crossaints/mince pies/cereals etc. Nice large garden. Definitely return. Host was very friendly. Highly recommend this place
A beautifully modernised cottage ideally located for easy access to shops and cafes/restaurants. A particular bonus is the garden, which is a real sun trap and has fantastic views of the town. If you bring your dog, it is also really easy to access some excellent walks directly from the front door.
Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and cosy. Has many little extra touches. Spotlessly clean and warm
Fantastic area to explore. Many tea rooms, pubs and restaurants just around the corner from the cottage.
Great communication from the owner prior to our stay.
Definitely recommend.

Thank you for your review. So glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage, hopefully we can welcome you back in the future.
The property is in an ideal position, car parking a short walk away. The lounge could be laid out better a couple of fireside chairs that could be moved closer to the tv in the evening if you want to watch it the settee is to far away from the tv and takes up to much space

The shape of the lounge is unusual and the suggestion of fireside chairs is just not feasible as one chair would block access to the kitchen in addition to this we would not expect guests to be moving furniture during their stay. We choose a large sofa as the space was large enough to accommodate one allowing our guests to feel comfortable and not cramped. The T.V is a lot larger than you would normally find in self catering accommodations and can be easily seen from the sofa as we know from personal experience. We are sorry that Kim did not appreciate the layout but no alternative is suitable for the space.
We had a lovely weekend in pretty Bridgnorth, visiting family for a special birthday, and our stay in Little Gem was the cherry on the cake! Annie went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, organising a nearby parking space,.providing delicious fresh bread and our choice of milk, alongside a well-stocked breakfast selection - there was even a little pre-christmas treat! The cottage itself is exquisite - perfect for two, decorated in calming tones, with a comfortable bed and an amazing bathroom. There was a generous supply of toiletries in the bathroom and extra blankets for snuggling, although the cottage is very warm and snug.Cartway is at the heart of High Town, the more historical part of Bridgnorth, and it is worth mentioning that there are lots of narrow winding roads, steep walkways and steps. Little Gem cottage is full of character and in keeping with the old town, which is very much part of it's charm.Thank you, Annie, for your great communication and thoughtful touches in the cottage, we hope to return very soon!
We stayed over the Christmas period as was a surprise trip for my husbands 50th birthday and on arrival we had a lovely hamper which was a really special touch. The cleanliness and upkeep of the property was absolutely spot on. A really beautiful warm homely cozy cottage with a lovely view from the little garden. There is nothing that wasn’t thought of from info on days out, info about the cottage to the lovely decor. Anytime I needed to ask the owner a question she was there and nothing was any trouble. The cottage is set in a perfect location just off the little village which also has everything you need. Would I return again without a shadow of a doubt absolutely loved it xx
WOW!!! Wonderful cottage, great location and very thoughtful owner :-)
The cottage was all we had hoped for, and more. It has been beautifully restored and is extremely comfortable. The owner was very quick to reply to any pre-book-in queries. She provides lots of 'supplies' in the cottage - even things like rice and spaghetti. We didn't have to take much with us at all really. The log burner was excellent, with plenty of logs provided. We were delighted when we arrived, to find a 'welcome basket' filled with all sorts of vegan goodies - never seen a welcome basket like it! This is fits with how caring the owner seems to be about her guests; she really has thought of everything! Will definitely be going back.
This quaint cottage on an historic byway was the perfect place for my husband and my 3-night stay in beautiful Bridgnorth. The decor was inviting and comfortable and the appointments were thoughtful and up-to-date. The bed was luxurious and the water pressure in the shower was wonderful. The cottage was well-located to everything we wanted to do and Annie was a gracious and friendly host. We highly recommend this cottage and will stay here again next time we return to the area.
Charming cottage, beautifully maintained in lovely part of Bridgnorth
We had a lovely few days staying in Annie's cute little cottage in Bridgnorth . Annie was very welcoming and we really appreciated the welcome basket with GF goodies for me. The Cartway is a great location for exploring the town and the surrounding area, with lots of excellent pubs and eateries close by. We also enjoyed a couple of BBQs in the garden. The tea rooms further up the Cartway boast the best views in Birdgnorth, but they're wrong - Annie's garden wins that prize! We had a nice day out on the steam train and enjoyed a couple of trips to Ironbridge. It's a great area for walkers, but beware - Shropshire doesn't seem to be quite as hot at maintaining public footpaths as other counties, especially unnamed routes. If you're eating out, we'd recommend the Indian menu at Thali Ho, breakfast at Butlers, Sunday roast at the Atrium and pizza at Peepo, though there are a host of other places we didn't have time to try.
Lovely 3 nights in this full of character tastefully refurbished historic cottage. Excellent use of space. Warm as toast. Everything we expected. We had a wonderful time.
Had a relaxing week in Cartway. Lots of history in the area and great base to explore from. Weather was great as were hosts who replied quickly to queries and steered us in the right direction.
The cottage is beautifully presented and has the bonus of a sunny garden with wonderful views.
Annie made the whole reservation & check-in process really easy and was a very generous host.
It's right in the heart of Bridgnorth, a great place to stay.
Beautiful cottage, very well appointed with everything you could need. The owner provided a generous welcome pack. Highly recommended and a great location for exploring Shropshire.
Just had the most amazing few days at this beautiful cottage, ideal for all amenities and a good spot to get around and sightsee. Shropshire is beautiful and the cottage is well presented and equipped, Annie and Dave are amazing hosts, would definately go back.
Beautiful Idyllic Cottage in lovely town of Bridgnorth
This cottage really does spark love at first sight. Immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with everything needed. Warm & cosy with log burner and logs / coal provided if ever wishing to have a night in - resting from the excellent selection of local restaurants and pubs. Would not hesitate to recommend this 5 Star Gem. Delightful hosts too with personal service and their expertise of recommendations and local knowledge.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Anne-Marie Hawkins
My Husband and I have been refurbishing properties for over 25 years. In 2019 we decided to turn our cottage Little Gem on Cartway into self catering accommodation. The cottage was modelled on everything we would want in a holiday home when we go away and have failed to find or have been sadly disappointed. Little Gem is now joined by Shining Star also on Cartway and listed on VRBO.
Why they chose this property
Little Gem enjoys a wonderful location on the historic Cartway a route used in the past by laden donkeys to bring goods up from the River Severn from barges moored by the Quayside. It has views from the sunny back terrace down to the River Severn and across to High Rock. It is decorated to high standard and offers spacious accommodation for just 2 adults The cottage is stocked with essentials, washing up liquid, toilet rolls, tea and coffee, cereals and more we even supply logs for the Little Wenlock Aga wood burning stove ( Small fee of £10 per stay) You will not be disappointed if you book one of our AWARD WINNING cottage. Just read our reviews!
What makes this property unique
Little Gem is different to other self catering accommodation, we can offer you :- * A Private Parking Space at a small fee minutes from the cottage (must be pre booked as shared with Shining Star. * Scenic Views across the River Severn. * Extras including a small Welcome Basket, breakfast essentials, logs, kindling and even matches for the fire. If you use the fire we ask for a small contribution of £10 per stay. * One small well behaved dog allowed upon request, £10 charged per night.
