East Wing self catering apartment is secludedly located in the oldest 16th century part of Swafield Hall, it contains a 220 ft2 bedroom with fabulous view over the fields and Trunch Church, kingsize bed, original exposed oak beams, LEDTV on the bracket (to watch TV in bed or from the sitting zone), antique chandelier. Large luxurious bathroom is in Victorian style, with free standing bath near the south facing window, rocking chair and an antique chandelier. You can enjoy stunning view to the parterre while taking a bath, resting in the rocking chair after and having cocktail, mixed at the bar desk. There is a private kitchen with a stylish breakfast bar. Guests can experience life in the Grade II listed Hall, discover its historical interiors, use the Tennis court, Croquet lawn, Barbecue, large Victorian style conservatory with a dining table for12 people, tables in the garden for outdoor meal, sunbathing zone with deck chairs & cocktail table. Swafield Hall can accommodate up to 12 guests.

Swafield Hall offers self-catering accommodation in a truly outstanding rural setting, within tranquil gardens and parkland, very close to the sea. Guests can stay in beautifully restored private apartments, experience life in the Grade II listed Hall, discover its historical interiors, enjoy great views from the windows of the apartments and explore stunning gardens, a tennis court, a croquet lawn, a large Victorian conservatory with barbecue area. Swafield Hall estate is ideally located near the North Norfolk coast, close to the coastal resort of Mundesley with its wonderful sandy beach (5 min drive), but far enough from the noise of the popular sea resort. Swafield Hall is equidistant between two main tourist attractions in North Norfolk: Cromer (8 miles) and the Broads (8 miles). Sheringham is 13 miles. National Trust treasures Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are both just in 10 miles from Swafield Hall.
The house is mentioned in "The Buildings of England" by Nicolaus Pevsner and Bill Wilson and has an impressive brick and flint Tudor North facade and beautiful lime washed Georgian South elevation. Local legend reports that Admiral Horatio Nelson stayed in the house. He visited the local area many times and attended Paston Grammar School, North Walsham, until he was 12 years old. North Walsham is 2 miles from Swafield.

To access your apartment you pass through the historical interiors of Swafield Hall including the impressive 17 metre long vaulted Ground Floor Hallway, with marble flooring and Georgian yellow walls, and beautiful 18th century main staircase.The secluded top floor location allows you to enjoy stunning views from all your windows.
At Swafield Hall guests can enjoy all beautiful gardens, use the tennis court, croquet lawn, barbecue, tables at the parterre for outdoor breakfasts / dinners, seating area in the large wooden Victorian style conservatory, outdoor sunbathing area with deck chairs and cocktail table, shaded relaxation area with a hammock near the parterre and the main lawn, relaxation area in the Arabian Secret garden with a lime tree canopy and two benches etc.
The Butterfly reserve, Paston Way and Dilham to North Walsham canal (Norfolk’s only artificial, locked sailing canal) are 5 minutes walk from the Hall and ideal for leisurely walks or bicycle rides.
The nearest villages are Swafield (1 mile) with the award winning local butcher Tavern Tasty Meats, Trunch (1.7 miles) with an excellent pub 'The Crown Inn' and famous classical concerts in Trunch Church during the summer season, and the Market Town of North Walsham (2 miles) containing several restaurants and the local Waitrose.
For your stay at Swafield Hall you can choose the East Wing or the South Wing, each with private kitchen & bathroom. The South Wing apartment sleeps 4 (plus the possibility of an additional person on a portable bed). For larger parties the South Wing can be rented together with Nelson’s suite (+2), and/or with the East Wing (+2) providing accommodation for up to 9 guests. The South Wing apartment contains a principal bedroom/ lounge with kingsize bed & large flat screen TV, antique flemish chandeliers, antique fireplace, authentic windows with the original shutters and stunning views, spacious kitchen, bathroom (shower) and a twin bedroom.
The East Wing sleeps 2 (plus the possibility to place a baby cot with can be provided) and contains a bedroom with kingsize bed, flat screen TV, large victorian style bathroom (both rooms with antique chandeliers) and kitchen.
In February 2017 we finished Nelson’s Suite renovation. This is a luxurious 250 square feet private room, situated on the first floor of Swafield Hall. Nelson’s Suite retains its original features like antique plaster, bay windows, servants bell mechanisms, servants door and C18th enfilade doors.
The suite can be rented for special occasions as an additional bedroom to accommodate larger parties of guests. It sleeps 2 and contains a large lounge/bedroom with exposed oak beams, kingsize bed, 42″ flat screen TV, polished wood floors, crystal chandelier, antique furniture, bay sash windows and stunning views over the parterre and main lawn. The house has ample parking in the tudor courtyard. Guests' bicycles can be securely stored overnight.
Young children welcome in travel cots or we can provide a travel cot or high-chair.
