About this property

BIG HOUSE, pet friendly, character holiday cottage in Llandecwyn

A stylish holiday house near to Harlech and Portmeirion.
with spectacular views. Wifi, wood burning stove.

When I imagine the perfect holiday house, this house comes to mind. Spectacular views, stylish custom decor, fantastic furnishings and a homely feel provide all the ingredients for a super holiday!
It is in close proximity to Portmeirion village (which can be seen from the house - we told you the views were good!), which is the site of the No.6 Festival and a very popular place to visit - we'd highly recommend spending a day there. It's wonderful to wander the grounds and gardens and the architecture is amazing. The design is said to be based on the Italian Riviera.
Big House is located just a five minute walk away from Llandecwyn station on the Cambrian Coast Railway. Also close by is Harlech, and its impressive castle, along with Porthmadog where you can jump aboard the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways and let the train take the strain whilst you soak up the sights of Snowdonia from the comfort of a carriage. This holiday house really is in an ideal location to base yourself for a holiday of adventure exploring what Snowdonia has to offer! If you'd rather experience the spectacular views of the surrounding area on foot, the Dyffryn Ardudwy Way is close by and the Wales Coastal Path is just a ten minute walk away.

"A fabulous house with equally fabulous views! Beautifully decorated, Big House is full of charm and character - this stunning cottage ticks every box!"
You are in the right place if you want to sample the local culinary delights. The nearest eating place is Ship Aground in Talsarnau, but Moorings in Borth y Gest, Castell Deudraeth in Portmeirion and Grapes in Maentwrog are also great places to go for a meal.
Thrill seekers don't have to travel far from Big House - Zip World is just a 20-minute drive away. Reach speeds of up to 100mph on the Titan zip wire, or if you'd rather something a little less heart-racing - jump around on underground trampolines at Bounce Below.
Big House can sleep up to 7 people; 5 in the main house with room for a further two people in a self-contained annexe through the dining room door which has its own open plan sitting room, kitchen/diner downstairs and a cosy en-suite bedroom upstairs. This makes it ideal for Grandparents or friends to join you on holiday, yet allowing them to have their own space too! Please let us know if you'd like to use the extra space when placing your booking.
Not enough space? No problem, nearby Little House will accommodate 2 extra people, so in total, a party of 9 could stay together in this stunning location.

Town: Llandecwyn is a scattered rural hamlet in North Wales, which stands amidst farmland, hills with lakes and mountains, which are all perfect for scenic walks and mountain biking. Llandecwyn is set on the National Cycle Route 8, plus birdwatching can be enjoyed on the red kite waymarked trail, which passes through the hamlet. There are also birdwatching opportunities along the coast and at the RSPB Osprey project, which is nearby. Only 5 miles away is historic Harlech, which is situated in a magnificent position between the mountains and the sea. Harlech is dominated by its majestic 13th century castle, which enjoys World Heritage status. The town is very popular with golfers, who come to enjoy the famous Royal St. David's course, whilst the beautiful 6 mile long sandy beach is wonderful for family fun and long walks. Harlech offers an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants and a leisure centre, whilst the whole of the Snowdonia National Park, together with the sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay, are all within easy reach. Other attractions in the area include the Ffestiniog Railway and Welsh Highland Light Railway, the secluded beaches at Borth y Guest and the Black Rock sands and the Italianate village of Portmeirion. A really beautiful part of North Wales.
