Delightful Historic House In The Heart Of Downtown - Walk To Everything!
Just a short walk to so many of the things our wonderful Alaskan town has to offer - gourmet restaurants, sandwich shops, Thai, Sushi, pizzerias, characterful bars, cheerful cafés with locally roasted coffee, art galleries & pottery shops featuring the myriad of talented local artists who call Homer home; The Pratt Museum, the Islands & Oceans Visitor Center, a movie theater - even the beach ... all within striking distance of this charming house. A short drive away is the famous Homer Spit which leads you to the harbor and all the fabulous fishing & nature activities we offer here.
Completely rebuilt and remodeled, this historic house was saved by its owners as a piece of Homer's history. It has everything you will need for a most comfortable stay - a brand new full kitchen to prepare your freshly caught fish, two bedrooms each with their en suite bathrooms, and a guest restroom if you have extra people. One bedroom has two extra long twin beds that can be made in to a King bed. The other has a Queen bed. Its spacious deck is warm and sunny and has a view of the Bay and mountains beyond. Though right in town, it has a lovely private, woodsy feel. Don't be surprised to find a moose napping under the trees!

Our stay in Homer was great! The place looks exactly like the pictures and was nice and clean. Centrally located and super easy to get around. Highly recommend!
We had our employees stay here for a week while they were doing work in Homer, they had nothing but good things to say about the house, the location and the owner.

We really enjoyed the house - it was perfect for our needs. The location is good, the beds are SO comfortable, the shower pressure is awesome! No complaints!
We loved our stay here. Beautiful home, comfy and cozy. Very impressed with how clean the home was. The location was perfect. We truly loved our stay in Homer, due to the fact that we were very comfortable here.
Sorry to see your three star review. That is the first I have received in 7 years of hosting. Please know that the work going on was on my neighbor's property, so I had no control. That said, if you had let me know, I would have spoken to them to ask if they could wait until I had no guests. That would have been the best course of action for us both.
Great location for our stay in Homer, central to everything. Easy to communicate with owner, we were missing some towels on check in, called her and our issue was immediately resolved. Would definitely recommend a stay here if visiting Homer!
Cute cabin right in town. We could walk everywhere. Clean, cozy and very comfortable. We had everything we needed and more. We will definitely stay there again when we travel to Homer!
Excellent place to stay...very clean, comfortable, great location, views, yard and deck to hang out on or see moose in. Loved that both bedrooms had their own on-suite bathroom. Great communication with owner...would definitely stay again if in the area!
The view is spectacular, the beds were very comfortable, and the proximity to the Spit and town was convenient.
Our only glitch was finding the place initially; it is located behind a house.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay Mary.
The fact that you find the house hard to find is, I hope, why it has a private "tucked away" feel, despite being in the center of the town!
Hope you get a chance to come back one day.
Victoria,
We absolutely LOVED our time in Homer, and this wonderful property truly added to our enjoyment! The location was perfect, and the host was organized and helpful! Thanks for the terrific visit to your wonderful city, Virginia! :-)

Thank you Virginia. So pleased you had such a wonderful stay.
My adult daughter and I stayed at Pioneer House in June. The stay had all the amenities you might need. It’s the perfect place for 2 couples. The beds might be the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in in a VRBO. It’s close to everything you might want to do in Homer. Great communication with the host. She was on top of everything.
We had a great time in Homer. The Cabin was very nice. We saw a bull moose and a cow with twin calf’s wander behind the cabin. The location was great! Back woods feel with restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Richard - You were great guests. Please come again any time.
A clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in Homer. It was great to be close to the spit and close to shops in town. Our host was responsive and gave us some wonderful tips on things to do and places to go while in Homer.
This was an excellent base for our fishing and other trips. And if you’re a fan of live music, this is the place for you. Alice’s Champagne Palace is right across the street and has bands on many of the summer weekend nights.
