Thank you for your kind review we are glad you enjoyed your stay
Easy booking, clear instructions on how to get there, great welcome pack. USB charging cables and port provided. Shower was tricky to get temperatures set but once figured out all was good.
Plenty of pot and pans …..
Enjoyed our stay 😀

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Always good to get some constructive feedback. We had just changed the shower so will now include some operating instructions in future.
The Stable was ok with almost all that was expected; except we couldn't get live BBC TV. Clean & shops nearby, location fine. It Lacked atmosphere in that the host cottage on the property was empty and run down; the gardens overgrown; the plot untidy and un cared for . We were told of the unfortunate circumstances of the host in that his wife had died and he had a stroke and was in a care home ; some few days before arrival. Also that a certain Wendy was looking after things. We never saw/met /or greeted by Wendy . It was all a bit gloomy & Spooky. We were there to attend a family funeral locally so we were also sad. We did find the promised welcoming pack of food items and that was excellent and a great help whilst we got to know the local facilities. There were some maintenance issues noted in the visitors book.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you felt disappointed, but I must correct several points for future guests.
The Stable has been run successfully for over 20 years and consistently holds a 4 star rating with very positive feedback. Your comments do not reflect the experience of guests before or since your stay.
The main cottage next door is currently unoccupied following a bereavement and my recent stroke, but this does not affect The Stable, which is fully maintained.
Our long-standing helper, Wendy, manages the property with the same care as always, and our gardener attends regularly. The garden is a traditional cottage garden—intentionally natural rather than manicured – not “run down.”
Regarding the issues you noted in the visitors’ book: the oven hood – the “oil running from it” was a minimal residue that wiped clean immediately; the shower fan was inspected and found to be clean and working; and TV problems could have been resolved instantly had you contacted the support number provided.
It is also disappointing that our personal circumstances were presented negatively. Most guests respond with kindness and understanding, and we are grateful for that.
We remain committed to providing a warm, comfortable, well maintained place to stay, as reflected in our many positive reviews. While every guest is entitled to their view, this review does not align with the reality of our property or the feedback from others
Another pleasant, cosy and comfortable stay. "There was no room at the Inn so we stayed in The Stable", thank you Hilary & Mike, hope to see you again.
Beautiful place, ideal size for two people after a chilled weekend. We didnt realise it was an annex at the back of the cottage but that was my mistake.
The welcome basket was phenomenal, lovely cakes and we will definitely book again.
