Very good

Overall we had a good holiday here , as so peaceful and such a beautiful area , also suitable for the dog. However, the house is in need of some restoration (flaking paint, ceiling stains, kitchen floor needs replaced, furniture more shabby than chic). Would also benefit from a deep clean. If you don’t mind roughing it this house is perfect for you, as a peaceful getaway with doorstep walks and walkable to the Craggans Inn.

Could be so much better.
The cottage is in a relatively good location, a quiet corner of a sheep farm but within walking distance to amenities including a great pub and restaurant.
The cottage was not very clean and smelt damp, there were crumbs and ants in some kitchen drawers, rubbish under a couch, many utensils were dirty, the kitchen floor had mucky foot prints.... however the sheets and towels were clean which was the main thing.
The whole cottage inside and out needed painting, the perimeter fence was falling apart which meant sheep were often in the garden and their poo was everywhere, therefore dangerous for children and dogs.
There was no microwave as advertised and the shower is uncomfortably small.

A step back in time
The cottage was lovely. Quaint and quirky but still very comfortable with a modern convenient kitchen to cook and eat in and comfy beds. Very rural and secluded setting but still within walking distance of the pub and restaurant.
It felt like stepping back in time to a simpler life, surrounded by countryside, beautiful trees and sheep with lots to do nearby.
The owner graciously accommodated our later than planned arrival and the cottage had its lights on and was nice and warm when we got there. Despite the freezing temperatures outside we always had a cosy place to return to. A cot and high chair was provided and the cottage was nice and clean. The immediate vicinity was a joy to walk in with glorious old trees on the doorstep and lovely beech and oak woodlands to explore. The whole peninsular was fantastic to visit and we will no doubt return to the cottage.
