About this property
Swallow Cottage is a coverted barn
Swallow Cottage has been created through the tasteful conversion of one of the outbuildings at Dove Mount Farm, right on the edge of the peak district, which offers quality, compact, comfortable accommodation, adjacent to a country lane. The cottage is beamed and has superb views across Dovedale from the first floor. It is situated on the outskirts of the village of Thorpe in 25 acres of organic farmland on the edge of the Peak Park, only 150 metres from the Tissington Trail and a myriad of bridleways and footpaths. Ashbourne is 2 miles away and Carsington Water with its nature trail is 4 miles away. Buxton, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Alton Towers are all within 16 miles. Golf nearby. Shop 2 miles, PO ¾ mile, pub 1 mile.

About the host
Hosted by Jackie
I'm 57 years old and lived in this area all my life. I have a husband and 2 grown up daughters. We have always loved the countryside. I love swimming and enjoy walking, meeting people and water skiing.
Why they chose this property
We bought our house and this cottage was a cow barn. As we don't farm we decided to convert into holiday cottage and keep as much of the property as original as possible. so all the beams are still in place.
What makes this property unique
The area is very quiet and is situated just off the main A515 the property is a walk away from getting onto the Tissington trail.
