2/10 Terrible

I absolutely loved the abandoned summer-cottage ghetto in Varna that we rented through Vrbo. Truly unforgettable. We stayed for about five minutes — and honestly, that was more than enough. There was no address. No street name. No house number. In fact… there weren’t even streets. We drove across a crater-filled wasteland between collapsing huts, following some random guy the host had sent to guide us. A pack of stray dogs joined the tour, just to spice things up.Thankfully, the guide turned out not to be a serial killer, so we’re all still alive and in one piece. Big win. We stopped at the “house” for five minutes, looked at each other, and silently agreed: absolutely not. Then we heroically followed our escort back toward Varna like survivors escaping a low-budget survival movie. After that came the thrilling sequel: negotiations with Vrbo customer support, who seemed to believe this charming post-apocalyptic cottage met all their “high standards.” They were especially impressed that the host had thoughtfully sent a man to lead us into the wilderness. Hospitality at its finest. In the end, the credit card company refunded our money (thank you, financial institutions ), even though the customer service representatives tried very hard to convince us everything was perfectly normal. If you’re looking for an extreme travel experience, unexpected safari vibes, and a touch of dystopian adventure — this is definitely the place for you.
