Our stay over the 4th of July weekend was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Kim was a very gracious and welcoming hostess, and her VRBO was spotless, decorated in a beautiful horse theme, and easy to “be at home.” Kim’s brunch was DELICIOUS ICING ON a busy birthday weekend for our Mom, Nana, and Great Nana!

Our family recently stayed at Kim’s property while in town for a funeral, and we couldn’t have been more grateful for her kindness and hospitality during a difficult time. From the moment we checked in, it was clear how much care she puts into welcoming her guests. Kim left fresh flowers and a thoughtful card for my wife, which meant so much to us. She even had water and treats ready for our little dog, who felt right at home.The home itself was spotless, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed. Kim went above and beyond by providing a delicious breakfast casserole and muffins, which not only tasted wonderful but also lasted us two full days. Those small touches truly made our stay easier and more comforting.We deeply appreciate Kim’s generosity and the peaceful, welcoming space she created. If you are considering a stay here, know that you will be well cared for. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area

Such a wonderful stay!

This was a perfect place to land for me and my family. Such a quant a beautifully located place. Kim is an absolutely amazing host! She dropped off the delicious breakfast for us and the next night she asked if we needed extra materials for the fire and dropped that off as well. My son and I enjoyed some time playing the games in the barn. Kim recommended going to Norththrop waterfall,about 10 minutes away, and it was absolutely stunning and we had so much fun! Also enjoyed some of the highlights of Big South Fork (Colorblind overlook, Leatherwood, and Twin Arches) Food was amazing, beds were comfortable, the place had everything you needed and more, and we even enjoyed some popcorn in the commercial popcorn maker while watching a movie on Netflix one evening. Simply amazing place!

Little slice of Heaven

I can’t say enough good things about our stay here! From start to finish, everything was wonderful. Kim and Tom are such warm, welcoming hosts who made us feel right at home. Check-in was super easy, and the house was absolutely spotless. The beds were SO comfortable! We didn’t have any trouble falling asleep at night. Dinner was incredible—everything was made from scratch with so much care, and the cheesecake was out of this world. The home was stocked with everything we could possibly need, and more, making our stay extra comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We loved all the nearby hiking trails and ended our evenings by the campfire under the stars. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-cared-for getaway with amazing food, thoughtful hosts, and great outdoor activities, this is it. We will definitely be returning!

Awesome property and great getaway!

Girlfriend Weekend

We have been celebrating girlfriend weekend for 12 years now… and our stay at End of the Trail was by far our favorite! The entire process of arriving to checking out was met with kindness and availability! Kim was the absolute best hostess of any VRBO we have stayed. The location was perfect! Just enough outside of town to experience solitude and quiet! But close enough to make a grocery run! We will be back!

Great Place to meet Old Friends

Wonderful accommodations, outdoor games, and a firepit we used every night for hot dogs, and smores. Great walking trails and horse riding available. Great food available by our wonderful Host, Kim. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing time.

Beautiful and relaxing long weekend!

This is such a beautiful home tucked away into the woods. It was perfect to spend 5 days away from home with our family, kids and mother in law. Super spacious, spotless and clean, and I LOVED being able to order hot, fresh, home cooked meals as if we were in a B&B but have a private home to ourselves. We even saw deer just outside the front and back windows. Plenty of board games, card games and entertainment outside. We hope to go back again! Thank you so much Kim for your attention to every detail!! I highly recommend your home to others.

Family reunion

Our stay was wonderful and the lodge was very comfortable.. We were able to relax each day and get good rest as we stayed in this beautiful place. We used the guides that were available to do some hiking right from the front door of the lodge. Our hostess was wonderful and brought us delicious treats for breakfast.. She was a joy to work with for booking And for all other accommodations. I highly recommend this getaway spot.

Better than described

This house is in such a great location. The inside was very clean and decorated so cute. It had literally everything we needed for cooking and grilling. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire after a long day of hiking the Honey Creek Loop Trail. We will definitely be back. Kim was awesome.

Peaceful Thanksgiving Weekend

Had such a wonderful time at this property. Kim was/is awesome and so easy to communicate with. Everything was perfect and we cannot wait to go back. If the property is available do not wait to book because it is truly amazing. We traveled with a family of 5 and 1 dog, had plenty of room and everything just felt comfortable.

Peacefully Pleasant

Great place to just take the stress off and relax. We definitely enjoy the atmosphere and environment. Hate we didn't get to enjoy the festivities that much. But it will always be a place we would love to return too .

Best time!

We stayed over Fourth of July weekend and had a great time. My daughter loved walking up the road and seeing all the horses. There are a ton of games to play if it’s a rainy day and your stuck inside. The breakfast that was prepared was delicious. I highly recommend staying here.

Hiking expedition

We hiked numerous trails at Big South Fork, Picketts CCC Memorial State park and toured Sergeant Alvin York’s home. The accommodations were great. Plenty of room to relax and cool off from our outdoor adventures. Kim set us up and provided guidance regarding trails and threatening weather updates which we were thankful to have.

Return visit

I used Kim’s house as a home base for a weekend race in Pickett/Big South Fork. I did the same last year and was so excited to find that it was available again. Kim is so sweet and thoughtful and the house is perfect for what I needed. Looking forward to returning with the whole family.
