About this property
3 Bedroom Cottage on Agritourism Rescue Farm on Beautiful Lake Hartwell -
Beautiful 60 acre horse farm on Lake Hartwell. A gorgeous destination for weddings and events, we have two homes available for rent, along with stall and pasture availability for those traveling with horses. One cottage is a three bedroom with two king-sized beds, one queen-sized bed and one full-sized. We also have a one bedroom cabin that sleeps four, with a full-sized bed plus a two person futon. To access the smaller cabin, please look at our other listing, Spotted Fawn Farm/Cabin, The Don, or Lake House. Our farm is located on the boarder of Georgia and South Carolina, about 10 minutes off I-85. We have four cottages that are professionally decorated, are pet friendly to WELL BEHAVED LEASHED DOGS, and are also accessible by boat. (Please note that dogs left alone in the house must be in a crate!) Our places are spread out over the farm and are all very different, just like our guests. There is a lower driveway that makes taking coolers and kayaks to the dock easier. Our farm has long winding trails, babbling creeks, sunny pastures with exotic animals and loads of horses. There is a shared boat dock for sunning or docking and cocktail hour always starts at 4:00! We frequently host weddings and events and special packages can be arranged. We love families and it is the perfect place to get away from technology and enjoy nature. (Although we have added WiFi for work getaways.) We are available and set up for weddings. If you’re interested in bringing a horse or to inquire about weddings. Lastly, there is no kitchen table. The kitchen is spacious and there is an outdoor table for dining and another large table at our outdoor kitchen but our cottage kitchen does not have one for large indoor meals. While the bedrooms are nice and comfortable, the living area of this cottage is small. The cottage is great for a couple with kids, two or even three adult couples, days spent outdoors, but I always want to caution that 8 adults in the cottage will find it cramped if staying indoors. We are truly a farm best enjoyed outdoors and the cottage isn’t a place for parties or indoor stays.

Our family and hound dog loved our stay over New Year's at the farm. Our little boy loved seeing the "neigh neighs, moo moos, and baa baas"! Buddy and Elexis were great hosts and it was fun exploring the property. The cottage was so adorable and lovely. Would love to come back!
Walking into this cottage reminded me of my grandparents home when I was a kid. The owners have done a wonderful job with restoration and decor.
Some of the animals are Just a few feet away and my little one got the giggles every time she heard the donkey.
So quiet. Cottage was charming and cozy. Enjoyed the animals. Loved hearing cows mooing and chickens, turkeys and donkeys doing their thing. A great place to meet halfway with my parents from Florida. Only complaint was no table for eating together but we figured it out! Thanks for a memorable long weekend!

The only time I’ve ever received less than a 5 star rating is when guests fail to read our description. There is NO dining table in our description!
Had this guest contacted me I could have suggested the two large dining tables at our covered outdoor kitchen (also in our unread description) or helped make other arrangements for them.
I work very hard for my superhost status and will jump through hoops to make my guests happy if I’m asked. This venture funds our rescue and nothing is more important to me than making sure things are done perfectly.
We are animal lovers so obviously we loved being able to interact with so many of them at Spotted Fawn Farm. The owners are serious about caring for the animals they have taken in.
The house reminded me of being home with grandma. It rained so much that we only got to take our boat out for a few hours one afternoon. But we watched football, played cards, grilled out and kept our eyes on the windows to catch glimpses of fawns and wildlife!
Overall, a great family holiday weekend.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this quiet cottage on Lake Hartwell. We loved seeing all the rescued animals and talking to the folks that helped out at the farm. Our Host did an excellent job helping us during our stay. We would definitely stay here again.
We had such a lovely stay at the Spotted Fawn Farm. My animal-loving daughter was in heaven. And my son, who is rarely far from his video console, had the best time running outside and climbing trees. The cottage is cozy and well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the wifi fast and reliable. The front porch is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea/ coffee early in the morning. My kids' only complaint was that the TV was too small, but I did not mind that at all ;)
The farm is beautiful and Elexis such a gracious host; her love for the animals on the farm is evident. We even got to try some fresh eggs straight out of the hen house! The access to the lake was the one not super convenient thing, but there are several lakeside parks 10-20 min away (including Tugaloo State Park).
If you're bringing kids, make sure to pack rain boots and a couple extra changes of clothes (they will get muddy!). And if you're bringing pets, the pet fee is actually PER PET (I did not see this spelled out on the listing) and they prefer that you leave it in cash for the cleaning crew.
We hope to return very soon!
Waking up in a cute cottage, then going feed the animals, explore during the day, the back to the cottage for game night and stories by the fire. Who could ask for more? Elexis was very friendly, and so were all of the animals, especially the pig who came to our cottage on the last day to say goodbye.
The cottage is quaint, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The surrounding farm with rescued animals is an attraction in itself. Beds were extremely comfortable, everyone slept well.
Kitchen is equipped for basic cooking; we had no trouble with breakfast but if you're looking to whip up a gourmet dinner the pots and pans may not be up to the task. Owner is incredibly helpful though and I'm sure they would help with specific requests.
The farm was adorable. I loved seeing all the animals. The outdoor communal kitchen area was really neat (fridge, stove, sink, various board games, puzzles, etc.). Nice little gathering place. The property owners were friendly and helpful. All in all a great trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family time at this cottage. The farm is beautiful and well maintained. It was so peaceful and private. I loved the outdoor shower!
We found this beautiful farm cottage for my Son's destination wedding in Anderson SC.
Very nice clean comfortable cottage home, nicely decorated!
The added bonus, was hearing the sounds of all the farm animals.
Quiet place, you won't be disappointed!
This is one of the cleanest VRBO we have stayed in. The owner answered all of questions quickly. They even checked on us to see if we needed anything. We will stay here again.
Of all the vacation rentals we’ve stayed at, this one was the most fun. We loved all the animals & the interesting stories on each of them. The cottage was super comfortable & spacious on a nice piece of property with lots to do. Our dog was in heaven!! It was in a very peaceful, country setting, yet close to the town of Hartwell. Hosts were very friendly, communicative, & interesting people. We hope to be back soon!
We were there of a family reunion. We enjoyed stay in the Cottage and watching the animals play. The property was not far my aunt and uncles house where we could come a go as we please!
The cottage was absolutely adorable! It was cozy and the master bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The animals were perfect, we really enjoyed watching them interact with each other! Although the dock was a bit of a walk/short drive, it was peaceful and secluded and we were able to catch some catfish! We would definitely stay here again!
