About the host
Hosted by Claudia
My name is Claudia and I live here with Andrew (my husband), our toddler Ella, Earl the cat and Netty the dog. Andrew and I met though our love of nature at a tree planting charity. So it made sense that when we found this house with its beautiful view we wanted to be here. Although there was lots of work to be done to make it into a comfortable home that it is now. My family background is hotels and so it makes sense to bring those skills and passion for hosting to our own home. I also worked as a horticultural therapist so gardening as well as yoga is my way to relax and reconnect. Andrew is a finance director for a local charity and is passionate about cycling and running.
Why they chose this property
The south facing views of the South Downs are incredible. Poynings as a village is very picturesque and has excellent access to the South Downs Way.
The whole house has been sensitively restored with eco fittings such as an air source heat pump and insulation in the walls. We use the wood burning stove in the cooler months for that super cosy feeling. So you will not be cold here! The garden has been planted up to be wildlife friendly with lots of seating options, including a cocoon chair. The house is very comfortable and relaxing with house plants and soft furnishings to make sure you feel relaxed. Our shower is fantastic! There's a separate utility room for walking boots and drying off damp clothes. This is our home so we have all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need.
What makes this property unique
