About this property
Fabulous views of South Downs, Victorian cottage within village.
Great views of Devils Dyke area. Amazing South Downs walks as we are situated inside the National Park and only 5 miles from Brighton.
Suiting couples, family and friends (2 double bedrooms and a nursery).
The village pub (Royal Oak) across the road, serving delicious meals. 15 minute walk to award winning local garden centre, deli and cafe (Rushfields). On the Bus route into Brighton, a car is recommended but not essential.
The resident cat Earl would appreciate feeding during your stay. Dogs are welcome but we would appreciate a discussion as they would need to be cat friendly.
The space
The home is really warm and cosy and very recently completely renovated.
A large kitchen diner opens out onto these marvellous views, ideal for day dreaming or inspiring you to get out and enjoy the countryside.
There are 2 double bedrooms and a shared bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a very comfortable pull out bed, which can be made up as a single or kingsize. We have a third bedroom used as a nursery.
Guest access
Whilst we are on our own holiday you will have access to the whole house including the garden.
Other things to note
As already mentioned we have a resident cat who comes as part of the house and by agreeing to stay here you will be responsible for feeding him. In return if you'd like he will gladly sit on your lap. We have a dog but she will be away having her own holiday.
We have BT freeview TV, including I player, Net Flix etc. We have a DVD player. Our music system is a radio and blue tooth speaker.

About the host
Hosted by Claudia

My name is Claudia and I live here with Andrew (my husband), our toddler Ella, Earl the cat and Netty the dog. Andrew and I met though our love of nature at a tree planting charity. So it made sense that when we found this house with its beautiful view we wanted to be here. Although there was lots of work to be done to make it into a comfortable home that it is now.
My family background is hotels and so it makes sense to bring those skills and passion for hosting to our own home. I also worked as a horticultural therapist so gardening as well as yoga is my way to relax and reconnect.
Andrew is a finance director for a local charity and is passionate about cycling and running.

Why they chose this property
The south facing views of the South Downs are incredible. Poynings as a village is very picturesque and has excellent access to the South Downs Way.
The whole house has been sensitively restored with eco fittings such as an air source heat pump and insulation in the walls. We use the wood burning stove in the cooler months for that super cosy feeling. So you will not be cold here! The garden has been planted up to be wildlife friendly with lots of seating options, including a cocoon chair. The house is very comfortable and relaxing with house plants and soft furnishings to make sure you feel relaxed. Our shower is fantastic! There's a separate utility room for walking boots and drying off damp clothes. This is our home so we have all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need.
