About the host
Hosted by Leo and Dorothy Keeler

Dorothy and I met in Anchorage, Alaska in 1988. Our love for animals and the outdoors led us to start a wildlife photography business and become active in protecting unique watchable wildlife resources.
We were lucky to have the CBS Evening News feature us twice for protecting the world-famous McNeil River brown bears, which helped us lead the effort that established the 160,000 acre McNeil River State Game Refuge. We then assisted Defenders of Wildlife, The Alaska Wildlife Alliance, and Friends of Animals in protecting the famed Toklat wolf pack in Denali National Park, the longest studied group of wild wolves in the world. On November 2, 1999, CBS Evening News featured us again for these efforts.
In 2005, we were honored to be asked to lead a round table discussion at the 8th World Wilderness Congress, hosting over 150 nations. At that meeting, we were asked to become two of the 40 founding members of the International League of Conservation Photographers. The ILCP was initially founded with 40 Fellows considered to be some of the most passionate nature and wildlife photographers of our generation. The mission of the ILCP is to further environmental and cultural conservation through photography and work on global campaigns to highlight current issues.
Dorothy's successful account of creating a petition to protect the Toklat wolves of Denali National Park is the lead story in MoveOn's book entitled, "MOVEON'S 50 WAYS TO LOVE YOUR COUNTRY: How to Find Your Political Voice and Be a Catalyst for Change.
Our passion for conservation has led us to developing and sharing a Rescue, Raise, & Release program for Monarch butterflies, whose population has decreased from over one Billion to a low of 35 million in the last 20 years. We decided to offer our home as a vacation rental which can serve visitors to Yellowstone and show interested guests how they can help Monarchs and other pollinators.

Why they chose this property
Leo worked in Montana in the 80's and always dreamed of returning. We chose the Paradise Valley because of it's incredible mountain views and closeness to Yellowstone.

All our guests receive Free Travel Planning starting a few days after you book your stay!
As a wildlife photographer with years of experience in the park, Leo has prepared an extensive Yellowstone Guide with details on the top places to see, the best routes to take, and how long it will take to drive to each area (including time allotted for possible "bear jams," "bison jams," or "elk jams.")
We will first send you an overview of the top attractions (thermal features and animals) and then help customize a travel route(s) in order of your priorities. Relax and have confidence that you’ll be at the right place at the right time to maximize your chances of seeing your favorite things!
